Not trolling, but I know some here will accuse me of it. Will give my opinions on OSU v. LSU and let people here prove me wrong. Of course, any opinions at this time of the year are just sports talk. OSU and LSU have many important games to play and what the results are will determine who gets into the playoffs.

My nutshell analysis.

Offense.

QB edge to LSU, but not that much.
RECEIVERS edge to LSU but not that much. (LSU receivers are uber talented, but OSU has very good veterans and very talented young players Olave and Garrett Wilson)
OFFENSIVE LINE advantage to OSU
RBs Edge to OSU
DEPTH Advantage to LSU. OSU has no one behind Fields if he goes down
Conclusion: Equal Offenses

Defense

LINE Edge to OSU Beast in Chase Young at end and 3 other good players. LSU looked poor against Texas
LBs Equal. OSU has 3 veteran LBs who have been performing well. None of them is all world. Am assuming that LSU has equal talent. People here can correct me if I am underestimating LSU.
DBs Slight edge to OSU CB Okudah was no. 1 recruit and Shaun Wade was no. 2 recruit when signed. Both playing well. Jordan Fuller highly recruited and second team All Big Ten last year. Realize LSU has super talented players, but I don't think Stingley as talented as he is, as a Freshman, is better than Okudah

Conclusion. With OSU having defensive edge, I would call them 3 point favorites on a neutral site today.

you said it yourself it’s too early. i’d bet on the LSU defense being better overall towards the end of the season, you can’t really judge your defense after playing FAU and Cincinnati, though they did look pretty good.

We have a top 10 pick at one corner and a guy who just locked down Collin Johnson and hasn’t given up a catch in his career at the other.
I’m gonna say we have the edge at CB

Dude Ohio State struggled on defense last year. I would give them the edge on both offensve and defensive lines. Linebackers and Secondary goes to us.

When I woke up this morning I said a little prayer and asked the good lord to please let some random buck fan come on TD and tell us all why the Buckeyes are better. Uncanny

Nope. LSU's starting LB are all on the Butkus watch list, I believe.

Now you're just trolling.

Well, you would be wrong. The only teams that would be favored against LSU on a neutral field are Clemson and Alabama.

I wouldn’t trade Stingley for any defensive back in college football.

"Ohio State struggled on defense last year."

OSU was awful on defense last year with awful coaching by all coaches other than their defensive line coaches. Have replaced coaches and look much better.

Held FAU to minus 22 yards in first half before their pulled first stringers. Shut out a good Cincinnati team. Tackling is much better and haven't given up big plays this year. Last year everyone, including Oregon State, got huge plays against OSU.

Defensive backfield is LSU for sure. Delpit and Fulton both first round picks next year and Stingley is an absolute beast and might already be the best in the nation. He is the highest rated corner of all time and looks the part. He is a generational talent at that position. LSU gets the nod here and imo the linebackers as well, our linebackers are actually a veteran group with a ton of talent and depth. Y’all get the nod on both offensive and defensive lines though.

i heard this “Cincinnati is a good team” narrative being spewed on ESPN and i’m just not buying it. they BARELY hung on at home against UCLA, which is a shite show of a program right now.

Reasonable point. However another side:

Okudah projected as No. 8 pick by SI. (Chase Young No. 3) LINK /

Funny (and ironic) that you didn’t use *The* in your thread title.

Forgot about Delpit. (My bad) Will change my opinion and give the edge to LSU on DBs although OSU's are very good.

Vegas would likely not agree with you.

Try to give Michigan at least as tough a game as Army did.
