Crap. I was thinking he was talking about this weekend for some weird reason.

And hey, how do you know what I was talking about? I could have just been promoting that game. Cause it's gonna be a good one.

If you are not totally wacked out on acid by 9:30 a.m. and in jail by 11:15, it just won't be the same. Then you can have the bail money wired by 4:15 p.m., and be back in Tiger Stadium by kickoff. That's how we do it every week.

Halifax - I've been communicating with you since summer. Skip the high school game! Head to The Chimes, Walk-On's, or Mike Anderson's on Friday night for some good southern seafood and some unbeatable "scenery". You WILL NOT be dissappointed.

Maybe some other guys on this board can give directions to some of the big tailgate crews on campus - i.e. Krewe of Ragoo, Half arse Tigers, etc.

Spent a summer with a girl on Isle Madame a long time ago. Great place, but I'm afraid to go back 'cause of paternity issues.

Halifax - I'll e-mail you a campus map with a few tailgate spots, etc. before the game.

Thanks for all of the advice, invite and comments.

We'll be checking out Mike's habitat, and the band. And we will be partying early on Saturday morning. We decided to stay in Baton Rouge Friday night so that we don't sleep in, get lost, get caught in game day traffic etc. So we'll be partying in Baton Rouge on Friday night also.

Clearly there are still some strong connections between Louisiana and Nova Scotia. Most of us who are coming down went to Acadia University, which is about 2 miles from Evangeline Beach. It's a historic site for the Acadian expulsion. One of our guys is married to an Acadian (she's a Pothier).

If you are looking for Acadian french, you won't find many in Halifax. Most live in western Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

Looking forward to screaming for the Tigers next week!

you actually won't find many french speaking folks at the game....most who can speak cajun french fluently are older folks who live in the rural areas south of I-10....

I have actually never heard of this "site of acadian expusion"....that has my interest going...

continue to bump this thread, as there will be quite a bit of excitement for the Florida game once the Georgia game is over....

I can speak french but that is because I spent a lot of my childhood growing up in Quebec. None of the guys with me can speak french and that is the norm in Nova Scotia. Live Louisiana most of the Acadian french live in rural areas. French is a lot more prevalent in New Brunswick.

Here you go on the national historic site. Acadia University is in Wolfville, about 2 miles from Grand Pre, where Evangeline beach and the historic site are. The deportation was a nasty thing to do.

I'll bump the thread as recommended.
