re: Collis Temple and LSU basketball

Collis probably doesn't hate Trent. Collis probably hates the fact that LSU has finished last in the SEC two years in a row, just as most LSU basketball fans feel.
Trent has brought all his problems on himself by having two shitty teams in a row. He's won before, so he can turn it around, and God knows, he seems like a pretty cool guy. He's definitely not the arrogant jerk Brady was. But he's got his own issues he needs to work out before this program can turn around, namely developing some sort of offensive brain.

Uh...not true. You haven't seen what's at Sports Academy lately, then.

You think any of the past LSU players or former
LSU greats are happy with 5-27 SEC play?
People like you hear former players reading script from lsusports.net
I'm not talking to you, but no one is happy right now, k? Stay out of this unless you have names to name or links to link.

Until there are links on here, all this "I know from a source" shite is pointless.
Former players don't talk publicly how they really feel.
In fact, I'm confident I could dig up some qoutes where some former LSU players were qouted saying Curley Hallman had the team going in the right direction.

Not getting the local players
He helped in getting several players locally, but there isn't the same talent locally as there was then.

i don't understand how you can't find 2, just 2, high level sec basketball talents in the state of louisiana. when you're THE school in the state.
i mean, i understand that the br and nola area aren't producing guys, but there is no one anywhere else in the state that can score a lot, consistantly?

While I appreciate CT as a player and him bringing his 2 sons and several others to LSU during Brady's time here, I don't appreciate the negative effect that his alleged inability to get along with Trent Johnson has hurt our program the past couple of years.
Agree? Disagree?
Please explain how someone not being welcomed into the program by the leader of that program(TJ) is the fault of the person alienated? That is like taking a scholarship from an athlete and then wonder why that athlete isn't out there recruiting for you. TJ decides who is involved with the program and since he doesn't want any of the Brady era supporters heavily involved you want to blame CT for not being involved? Makes perfect sense.

You also have kids that never grew up wanting to play ball at LSU in the first place.
With the way Jordan markets Carolina, and the trendy shite of Duke, Kentucky, Ohio State, etc...a great basketball talent wouldn't want to go to LSU regardless of how TJ pursues him. At least not until the program is built up.

Like Anthony Randolph or Glen Davis? Stromile maybe?

Excuses.
TJ's recruiting is so bad that he has signed only one player in the upper rankings of HS BB and he is a freshman next year. And even that kid is not going pro after one season.
Pretty bad for a sport where you only need a couple of really good players to be successful.

I have known CT since he played for LSU. Who ever said he did anything to hurt LSU BB is an arse hole or retarded!!!!

This shite is so frickin played out. Two good players do not make a team good. There is so much more behind it (regardless of the current argument in this thread), I'm just tired of hearing this statement

Yeah...no great players ever came out of Louisiana and went elsewhere.
I mean...you rattled off 3 names...let's add Tyrus. That's 4 names. Why don't you name guys who went to other schools...Texas? Georgetown? USC?

Tyrus wasn't nearly as highly recruited as the others. The only stars that really left the state were Augustin (Katrina) and Monroe. Monroe was a big loss. However, Georgetown is a hard school to say no to.
Other than that, LSU has had a pretty good run lately of getting the best in the state. As for out of state, Brady did pretty well there, so it's possible.
I just keep hearing excuses.

Plus, no one is saying we should get 3 five-stars a year. However, 1 good player in 3 years is pitiful and could be grounds for dismissal.
