Besides Kilponen and Wickersham

Do you see any position players playing a lot of minutes next season?

New ones? No way.

Beth will NEVER bench Sanchez or Serrett and it seems that 2nd base is locked down without even a hint of average play. That leaves Doyle at first (deservingly so) and Andrews in left.

Claire has never received a 5 or 10 game stretch to see if her team leading OBP can materialize. Can Goff play? Who knows, won't be given a chance.

Take a look back at our production at 2nd, SS and 3rd this year and the previous two seasons and tell me you have faith in anything changing.

I just know we better do something because the Calvary that bails us out seemingly every game in that circle is riding off in the sunset later next month!

Then what?

Catcher needs to be addressed as well. By far weakest position

We are just not very good overall as position players. It makes you wonder about alot of things. The last crew of studs ended with Jaquish and Landry. If I am not mistaken, those two made commitments when Yvette was still here.

If that is correct, that means we have severely underperformed on the position player identification, evaluation and development across the board.

It could be a little difficult, their RPI is 23. Not sure who could bolster their RPI with the rest of the schedule

Mcneese is decent but they will need some help to have any shot at hosting.

What a rediculous post you may have played softball but you know nothing about LSU, Torina and the current players.

Your wrong about Caccamise at catcher on Saturday. The two past balls didn’t help but watch the replay first one was going to hit batter until she moved and second Caccamise is set up low and inside until ball went high and out.
Catchers don’t walk or hit batters.
Caccamise could use more SEC time before Saturday and her framing definitely contributed to Hoover’s 13 K’s.
Lay off the catchers. Yah both of them. If we scored 4 or more runs a game we would have anything to talk about.

No way she starts a lineup like that against a team that isn't from the SWAC or MEAC.

No way she would change anything even against a team from one of those conferences. Midweek games and early season games should be used to develop bench players and give rest. Instead those one or two of those players might be lucky to get a pinch hit.

The OM series should have told you everything that you need to know about this team. They are a bottom tier team statistically and we managed only 4 runs total in taking 2 of 3 at home. We can't hit! Instead of being creative when given opportunity against an inferior team or giving quality playing team to a bench player she runs out the same group every game.

Team batting is near the bottom across the board. Thank goodness for the top of the order, specifically AA and Doyle. Antoine can play and deserves top of order at bats even though Ks are high for limited ABs. Thornhill and Weinberger need to be given a chance. What's the worst that can happen....they don't hit either?

I would hate to know where we stood with leaving runners on.

Defense has been above average besides catching. 50 SBs this year on 55 SBAs???

I have a tough time accepting trading offense for defense at multiple spots everyday especially for a team that has been as successful as we have. No excuse to hit as bad as we have. The worst hitting team at LSU in the last 8 years and a damn disgrace to not give Wali and Carley more run support than they have gotten. Without them, go ahead and figure at least another 12-15 losses.

eta: expect Wali to get more at bats moving forward. It's getting to the back half of the season and tournament time.

In baseball, a slide is an offensive move.

Nice.

LSU has no business in the top 20 , maybe even the top 25 !! Their struggles at the plate are just painful to watch, its hard to believe that you can make it to this level of play and look that lost in the batters box ! Crucify me if you will but there are a lot of smarter people than me that are getting paid saying the same thing !!

No, I am pretty sure I am not. I continually watched her not catch the ball. And I have continually watched the other teams steal bases at a ridiculous pace. So no, I won't lay off the catchers. And looking at your post history, I am going to assume you are related to Caccamise. She is NOT an SEC caliber catcher at this moment.

hoover was most definitely erratic but CC was also dropping meatballs down the middle of the plate. None of LSU's catchers have a framing issue. Thats not an issue. What is an issue is we don't have consistency blocking wild pitchers and people who can throw out runners consistently, as well as a person who can even hit

Schlattman is LSU's best bet to block wild pitches and to throw runners out. Pitchers aren't always perfect. Barnhill, Osorio, garcia all are erratic at times but they have catchers who can control most of their off pitches

CC does not have the arm to throw out runners, that itself is a major liability. She continues to drop pitches. IMO she isn't even a power 5 caliber catcher or hitter.

To top it all of none of the catchers can even hit for any type of average at the plate. Probably isn't fair for me to say that about CC in her limited at bats but seemed pretty overpowered at the plate whenever she was

You obviously don't. Didn't you say Springfield was out for the season when they plan to have her back as soon as this weekend possibly?

I may have mentioned that someone said she was out, i cant find the post, unless you are talking about something on Ultimate Softball forum.

Just went over there to Ultimate and saw a post where I ASKED if she was out, after someone said she was. I cant find a post on here where I said she was out. Not sure I ever said that.
