I don't have a link, maybe there's one on youtube but this was 07. I distinctly remember as soon as they went to them he said this because I got pissed about it seeing as we had just run right over the team that many thought was the best.
This was the year USC blew out Illinois I believe in the Rose Bowl and finished #2 or 3 with 2 losses

Herbie is right. We don't have the offense to roll anyone. The type of offense Les insists on running is going to keep the games close. Run, Run, Pass. Its a one dimensional offense. We use our defense to roll teams.

Our offense doesn't truly average 40+ per game. We depend on turnovers the same way a 3pt shooting team lives and dies by the three.
This analogy doesn't work in so many ways. A better parallel would be a basketball team that depends on a smothering, pressing defense to generate turnovers for a methodical pattern offense.

You, Mr. Defensive. Name calling with people who disagree with you. Since LSU has played 1 real opponent, and caused many turnovers in that game, its hard to gauge the offense as of now.

We use our defense to keep the other team's offense out of the end zone, and our offense to keep them on the bench. It is very reminiscent of the NY Giants Super Bowl team of 1990-91.

Hey, let's just focus on hating the MSU puppies tonight. We can go back to hating "us" tomorrow.

Ahh...the daily Herbstriet thread.
Every week is the sane shite. Palmer says something good about us and Pollack says something bad it's "pollacks a douche, I like herbie though", then vice versa and all the sudden its herbie who is the douche and pollack is cool. I don't get the logic; they're both douchebags.

We sure had enough of an offense to roll tOSU. Granted this is a different team, but we made UO look like shite.

Such a jerk. Don't think he ever apologized to Miles about his Michigan statement debacle.

Said the offense is "predictable".
It is, and Les makes no apology for it
Run, run and run...and sprinkle a pass here and there..
Should we need to fling it, I think teams might be surprised how good LSU can be throwing it..
LSU always starts running the ball at the beginning of every game because Miles wants to see how will it go...see what the lines are going to do....and begin wearing down the opponent's defense.
that sets up play action
ND should be 2-0...but they turn the ball over, over and over
LSU doesn't! That's the LSU formula..control the line, run, keep the ball..don't turn it over...let the defense take over the game with feild position...the game will come to you.."take advantage of your opportunities"
Next thing you know your winning 85% of your games!
Same style of play as Nick Saban likes
Pass happy teams never win big in CFB, fun to watch, yes...but often come up short with Hardware
running the football is "football"
