This weekend means nothing for SC; the only way they can make the postseason is by winning the SECT. I wouldn’t be shocked if they try to set their pitching up for next week.

I don't expect SC to have your same thinking.

Yeah, 100%. They don’t deserve a top 8 seed because you can’t ignore the quad 3 and 4 losses. But I do think they are currently one of the top 8 teams in the country, not Oregon State. RPI has those teams swapped in my opinion.

Oregon State's RPI is inflated because they've played 2/3 of their games at road or neutral sites.

Just my personal opinion for what it’s worth but I think LSU Is already a lock for top 8 seed. Not only is the record good enough and all the other parameters, but for revenue purposes the NCAA wants LSU to host all they can because of the crowd draw and revenue that generates. But I’ve been wrong before too..:lol

Just about every team listed in the OP would pack the house for a regional.

This hasn't been a consideration for a long enough time that it really shouldn't be mentioned anymore.

Does anyone know why Warren Nolan and D1 have different RPI rankings? The RPI is just a formula, so what makes the numbers different?

Are they both live numbers? I know Warren Nolan is updated every time a game goes final. I don't know how often D1 updates theirs. There were a couple games yesterday, so if D1 isn't updating everyday that could lead to a difference in output without a difference in the actual formula.

I just assumed they were. But one being live and the other not would make more sense than one formula spitting out different numbers.

I'll check when I have time and see if I can figure it out. No sense in keeping track of two if the reasoning for the difference is one set is lagging behind.

Hopefully the committee recognizes that fact when making their selections.

Kinda similar to FSU losing their QB and getting left out of the playoffs. Texas is getting in but without their ace how far can they realistically get? They are trending down.

Updated OP

- Removed D1 RPI/SOS (they were the same, so it appears Warren Nolan is live and D1 lags).

- added Oregon resume, removed WVU from watch list.

For sure, try to win 2 at South Carolina it’s a lock, That sweep at the hands of Auburn and letting Texas off the hook late to lose series in late innings Is haunting us, with those 2 series We would be unquestionably number 1 seed imo.
But if candy and nuts……….

Doesn't work like that though. What about if we don't come back against Tennessee, walk one off against Arkansas, etc. It all balances itself out over the course of a season. We are a good team that is in a good spot. Can't ask for much more.

Hell will freeze first, but all 8 national seeds should go to SEC teams. This SEC is one bad arse mother _ucker.

The ACC will be deserving of 1 for sure, maybe 2. But otherwise I agree.
