Whoever is projecting LSU as a national seed is smoking that good stuff. Look at our RPI. I know it's going to continue to come down, but I don't think we finish the season in the top 12 in RPI.

Idk. I think we can if we win 20 SEC games. What helps is not only our schedule here on out but the schedule of our opponents. So while we don't get USC, many other teams do.

That being said, I'm not that confident we win 20 games

We'll finish 15-12-5 in SEC play.

As long as the Tigers keep winning the next list of weekend series and even sweep a few teams, they will have a shot. It may a be a long shot, but it's still there. Beating teams like South Al during the midweek will also give them a boost, considering the fact that South Al took 2/3 from teams like Arkansas.

What they want to avoid doing is losing midweek games. I know some people don't think it's a serious thing, but losing to teams like McNeese or Nicholls during the week is what hits the RPI pretty hard.

As a Cajun fan, we have lost regional spots before by losing too many midweek games; even though our record was close to 15 games over .500 (2006 season).

Anyways, best of luck the rest of the year. Maybe, we will meet again in regionals.

Personally, I'm just concerned with hosting a regional right now. I doubt we make the top 8 this year either.

I'm a "wait and see" kinda guy. The NCAA has pulled some surprises before.

We probably will but 2010 still gives me bad memories.

Same here. I will never get over it.

We're currently projected to get a national seed with an RPI damn near the same as the one in which we were left out of the field of 64 in 2010.

I disagree that most ULL fans hate LSU. Yes there are some jerks who hate on LSU in just about any context but Cajun Field isn't full on Saturdays because many people go to Baton Rouge. When LSU is away or on bye, our attendance is usually better so there is definitely a large portion of Lafayette that supports LSU. Most people like me who support both ULL and LSU simply aren't as vocal or combative as the "LSU hater" crowd. I wear LSU gear around quite often and I've never been hated on. I catch more hate from Bama fans around here than ULL fans hating on me. Unless of course you wear P&G in the Redzone during a football game but that's a poor idea anyway.

FWIW I'd love to see a Super Regional matchup with LSU and ULL. It'd be really intriguing.

rpi will take care of itself...we still have some good teams left to play, just need to keep pitching well and the hitting will improve

A popular license plate in Lafayette is the half ULL and half LSU. Some Louisiana proud folks down that way. And we will see dem Cajuns again this year so we better get ready.
