Agree there's lots of talent in the state. But it's mostly skill players and that matters. North LA puts out a few olinemen, but not enough. Also the state is weak in hs qb talent. Mostly a result of the offenses that la high schools run. (Best athlete takes a shotgun snap and runs around buying time until a wr can get open). No pro style offenses like Lsu tries to run, that require a qb to read a defense and make progression reads).
Also doesn't help that qb and oline are the hardest positions to predict because you're guessing how a kid will grow and develop mentally and physically at those positions a lot more than others.

No disrespect to him, but LSU could potentially have a playmaker and/or a big-time blocker at the position. Jeter is neither.
My thoughts exactly, I watch our tight ends get man handled at the point of attack on a weekly basis. We have playmakers on the bench, but we keep running these blocking tight ends out there who can't block. No disrespect to Jeter or Moreau, but those guys aren't SEC caliber starters.

They, like USC and Note Dame, can recruit coast to coast
Don't they (Bama) have some stud QB committed from Hawaii?

I can't even come close to fathoming what Saban would've done if he stayed
I can. Saban would at least have the same number of national championships as he currently does -- and probably one or two more. LSU would be the Evil Empire of college football.

I heard another SEC-W coach call LSU, along with Texas, the "best jobs in college football". FWIW

Imagine if LSU actually had hired an above average coach to take over while they are established.. Now is the absolute best time to make a coaching transition.. before it gets too bad.
The sky is the limit with an above average coach, granted the talent that comes to an established LSU program.
But by all means.. let's continue to settle with Miles and 3-5 loss seasons.. like how FSU continued to drop 4-5 games a season at the end of Bobby Bowden's tenure because he had already won so many games.. yet the moment a new coach took over they started winning 11-13 games immediately.. and eventually went 2 straight regular seasons undefeated.. had Bowden continued to just coach forever.. they would not have had those tremendous seasons or another national championship.
Even good coaches go stale.. and their time has come. Even if Miles was to somehow pull of undefeated here on out, I still wish he would walk away.. and I would absolutely not raise his salary or extend him again. Call his bluff. I don't see anyone any where else paying Miles nearly 5 million. I would LOVE to see that happen. I would dare Miles to walk. So sick of the constant embarrassment of a passing game in today's time.
couldnt agree more.

True dat! Had Saban stayed he would have at least the same number of championships as the baseball program!

That is why replacing Les Miles will not be a burden for LSU. Coaches with a burning desire to be the best will practically beat a path to the door.
But NOT Bob Stoops !

He said that people close to saban said LSU has the best recruiting base in America and that no team should ever out recruit LSU
If this is true, why didn't little nicky have the top recruiting classes every year while he was at LSU?

Colin also said that Bob Stoops would dominate with our talent.

This fact alone is enough to turn the heat up big time on Miles
Cowturds opinions have now become facts.

Couldn't agree more about the make up of the talent in La.
With mighty Nick Saban and the Alabama brand, Alabama still spends a lot more on recruiting than does LSU.
Are we resting on our laurels? Does the LSU program itself think like a lot of these posters?
LSU sells itself
Anybody can recruit well at LSU
It's easy
Blah,blah, blah
