Why didn't he play as a freshman?
Why did a guy like Dishon get kept over him?

The answer is simple. At the time, he was viewed as not as valuable.

yes the answer is very simple, the decision was obviously not based on athletic ability.. What the frick?!?!? Can't you read dude??!?!?

i thought reine was a bit overrated.

overrated? he never even got a shot to play.

but i just didn't see him competing with mahtook, dishon, and watkins as some of the talented young outfielders.

He definitely could have held his own.

Like i said, he wasnt cut because he wasnt a good baseball player.

Just like JT Wise.

same reason with a few others.

Do you think guys like Chris McGehee and Pontiff were more talented?? not a chance. But building a good baseball team isnt about always having the best players. Chemistry is an important part.

as someone who bashed PM at the time, Im glad it ended up working out. But i would still have liked to see what this kid could have done at LSU

if you scroll up a little bit, you'll see that we established that it was either grades or something else. next time you try and put me on blast, read EVERY post. thanks now frick off.

Someone asked about grades and you replied with " But what I don't get is, if the issue was grades how wasn't he passing? I mean Shaq went to LSU, aint no way Cody was dumber than the Shaq-tus", implying that it wasn't grades.

How about next time you call someone out, don't be a complete dumbass and contradict yourself. I guess #3 would have been the correct answer to my previous post. I don't blame the guy for going somewhere he was actually good enough to start. OU is respectable, they did win a game in a regional last year.

Get out of attack mode dude, the guy said he wasn't as valuable. Value means a lot more than straight athletic ability. As in will he remain eligible, or does he have a bad attitude as well as ability to contribute immediately.

So, you are saying he didn't play as a freshman because he was more talented that Leon Landry and Dishon? Then he was cut inspite of the fact that he was obviously better and yet was still asked to come back after a year of JC while being assured of a starting spot. This makes sense to you?

Reine may end up being a great player. Perhaps he has developed since he left. At the time, Mainieri had to make a tough decision and decided that Reine wasn't one of the top 35 all things considered.

There is no way that Mainieri saw his as one of his best players, still decided to cut him over others that he viewed as less talented, and then told him that he would start the following year if he comes back. That's just plain stupid.

The fact that he may have developed into a good/great player doesn't change anything.

Mainieri wanted to put Dean in right field to give him some exposure as just more than a batter. That was Cody's spot until mainieri made that decision, ge told Cody that last year was Deans "draft" year and told Cody that he didn't want to see Cody's talent go to waste another year, so he told Cody to transfer for a semester and Dean would be gone. But obviously Mainieri made a wrongful prediction as Dean did not even get a sniff of RF.

Next time y'all try to make me look stupid, please actually know WTF y'all are talking about haha... Y'all make me laugh

You must have been in HS a long arse time because Lionel graduated about 7 years before Cody.

I played football w/ Lionel Turner at Walker and I graduated 12 years ago.
