I know Mainieri and the Tigers won it all last year, but I know that Cody Reine was cut and is now the starting CF for Oklahoma. It's going to be interesting to see if maybe Oklahoma and LSU both make it to the CWS and maybe have a chance to meet. Now thats some College Baseball Drama lol

OU wont even win the Big 12 South much less make it to the CWS (not that 2 teams from the same division can't make it)

Yes he would. Mainieri told him to go to a JUCO for a year and come back and he'd have the RF position. Cody said frick You, and went to OU.

At least Maneiri was up front with those kids and got them into other programs. Forrest is at Ark, that didn't stop LSU from winning it all.

Blame the NCAA on that one, they implemented the 35 man roster rule and didn't even give the teams time to deal with the cuts - a lot of kids were let go at schools from all around the country. Not just LSU!

I wish CR the best....he did what he needed to do to get the opportunity to play.

LSU managed out ok......OU got a great player.

I agree with you buddy. I played football with Cody and he's one of my really good friends, and he always wanted to play for LSU. But, he's at a great school now and he's determined to have a stellar career.

I thought Reine was one of the best flat out hitters we had during fall practice last year

It's like we're a prep school for OU in both football and baseball

Cody never came close to seeing the field at LSU. Every player I spoke to his last year knew he would be cut because he wasn't good enough. Gotta make room for players who might see the field.

Anyone who isn't from Walker knows this. The rest are in denial. Sorry if it hurts to hear it.

The guy was a RS freshman. But you're probably right. He really sucked and never had a chance to get on the field

If this is true, it wouldn't surprise me. Decent kid, but about as smart as a box of broken rocks.
