I know most posters think with there emotions and take losses very hard but here goes.

I would like to know what the fans on here expect from an SEC West coach over say a 10 year span.

Examples:

Lets start with recruiting, what should the average class rankings be?

How many games should he win a year?

How many National Championships should he win?

Out of the 128 FBS schools, where does his average finish in the polls need to be?

If you were hiring him, what would your realistic expectations and criteria be for the LSU football program's head coach position.

You need to look at accomplishments sure, but you also need to look at the direction the program is heading and realize when it's time for change.

Similar to what Miles had here over the first 10 years.

If he stayed for a second decade... Not the case.

This is a thinly veiled defense of Miles. Turn your eyes to Tuscaloosa. They get it right and don't tolerate weird BS at $5 Big Ones per year.

With the talent in this state and the money that's put into this program having more than 2 losses in a season should be considered a failure.

At LSU or any west school? Because we fancy ourselves an elite program.

Examples: At LSU

Lets start with recruiting, what should the average class rankings be? at least top 10 but usually top 5

How many games should he win a year?
No less than 9 not including a bowl.

How many National Championships should he win?
Minimum of 2

Out of the 128 FBS schools, where does his average finish in the polls need to be?
Not satisfied unless top 6

If you were hiring him, what would your realistic expectations and criteria be for the LSU football program's head coach position.

With the in-state recruiting available, we should should consistently be top 7.

Less than 9 wins not including a bowl is unacceptable unless we are decimated by injury.

We should be consistently be competing for conference and national championships.

For me, who has always been a supporter of les, it is something less tangible. I watch college football to have fun. Sure winning games is fun, but its not everything.

I like to see kids that care, and are having fun. College football players have a shelf life, you only get to see them for a limited number of seasons before they move on. I like to see them develope, give their all and compete because it makes me feel young again. I like to be entertained, because thats what it is ultimately: entertainment.

LSU football is none of those things for me anymore. It is boring, predictable and unimaginative. It is like watching an NFL game in december with two teams vying for the number 1 pick in the next draft. Coaches coaching not to lose or keep their jobs, players going through the motions. Listless crowds that are there because they paid the money for the tickets, and are just waiting the requisite time to feel an adequate return on their investment. Im going to find other things to do on Saturdays. Im done with les.

All I know is that I've never been prouder as an LSU fan since the Saban/Miles era. Now whether the program is in a decline, I have no opinion at all.

I'm genuinely interested in what else would make you proud.

We need more out of our defensive coaching staff. Miles's offensive scheme is so bad we have to have a top flight D. This year we have dropped to #30 in total D and 115th in Red Zone D. If teams get in position to score, they almost always do.

I'm thinking that is doubtful. But, hey, I genuinely think I could be wrong.
