I would like to see Alabama play Oregon. Too bad LSU will ruin that possibility.
And where are we suddenly going to find a QB that can do that?

Luckily there's 21 more guys on our team that will have a say in the outcome. Game still has to be played. Let's see where we are once the dust settles.

Seriously, I know it's probably been discussed 653 times, but if we win out, are we shut out of the MNC game for undefeated Oregon/Kstate/Notre Dame?
IMO we would be, but I'm in no way an expert on all that goes into those numbers...

Follow this closely...

LSU beat USCe
USCe beat GA
GA beat FL
FL beat LSU (and USCe)

FL 2-1
LSU 1-1
GA 1-1
USCe 1-2

I think the rankings are based on the "last to lose". But it really doesn't matter because LSU will either deserve to be ahead of them all (with a win over Bama) or to be behind GA and FL with a loss to Bama.

The Oregon Ducks are the most over-rated team in the history of college football. I can not understand why they rank so high. They play nobody and run up scores. They barely beat Wisconsin in last years Rose and LSU toyed with them all game long.

What gives? Is it NIKE ad pressure? But I do hear Willie Lyles is about to bring them down..... way down.

Would love to see top 4 undefeated at seasons end. If LSU loses next week of course. ESPN would break.

Texas being in the top 25 still, completely illegitimizes the polls.

Moved to Houston 4 years ago. The irrational UT love fest is sickening.

serious question: when was the last time a Lane Kiffin coached team beat a top 10 team, much less a top 5 team?

I'm betting NEVER.

"The Oregon Ducks are the most over-rated team in the history of college football. I can not understand why they rank so high. They play nobody and run up scores. They barely beat Wisconsin in last years Rose and LSU toyed with them all game long."

Last year we were badly over-rated. We lost a lot of talent on defense and our offensive line was very young. Our center was a freshman, and our rb who fumbled twice was a true freshman. LSU was clearly a much better team.

This year our QB is a far more accurate passer, and much faster running the ball than Darron Thomas was. Mariota may be the best quarterback we have had since Dan Fouts. We have an embarrassment of riches at every skill position on offense and our offensive line has experience.

But what's really impressed voters is our defense. Our stats may not be pretty or anything to scream about at face value, but that's because our starters generally only play till half time and our opposition piles up stats against our young guns. We did shut out a solid Arizona offense. The true test will be this Saturday when we go up against the NFL talent that SC has on the offensive end.

Btw if you remember, we lost the BCSNCG by a fg as time expired to the SEC champ. Granted, both teams were rusty and looked bad on offense, but the month layoff affected both offenses just the same.

We're not asking for the same respect that SEC champs get, that's something that has to be earned. But I do think we are better than KSU and Notre Dame.

Aside- For some reason I can't get the quote button to work. I apologize. Also good luck this weekend. Every 3rd party fan base is pulling for you guys.
