Coach Wade on Smart’s Technical

There was already a bench warning so no warning for him for jawing.
Smart’s Technical
“After I scored, I was just trying to bring energy to my team,” said Smart, who is known for his trash-talking. “I wasn’t necessarily talking at him, but the referee told me the team had already been warned.”
So what did LSU coach Will Wade think of his technical?
“I’m not saying it’s a good thing, but coach liked it,” Smart said with a smile.
“I liked it,” Wade said later. “It gave us some pop … it gave us some energy.”

I love how wade has his player's backs. It's very smart of him.

I love how Smart plays. Hope he keeps doing it. He brings a toughness to us. Emmitt too.

Wade said all last year that the team didn’t have toughness or swagger. He’s got that this year, and I love it.

Seems like Javonte is usually more subtle than that. That one was on the ball and less hidden.

I'm old school so not a fan of trash talking but it has it's place at times and as long as you are backing it up on the floor sometimes it can pick up a team much like a coach getting a tech can sometimes spark a team.I defer to WW on that.

I thought the technical was a joke and extremely weak. With that said, he goes overboard at times and if LSU had lost by a point yesterday, everybody would be crucifying him. He played a great game though yesterday and the technical was garbage as UGA was doing way worse.
