I don’t disagree about any of that I’m just saying we don’t have enough info to call him a generational player or last season taking him 1st overall. Of course it’s opinion based and I wouldn’t call you crazy for drafting him.

You just said he was basically nothing to Clemson..... he was the straw that stirred the drink.... bottom line is that Clemson does not beat Bama without him.... fact. End of story.

Maybe, both Winston and Watson had second seasons where their INTs skyrocketed. Mainly because they knew how to get those wins, were kinda just getting by games and taking more risks. It can happen but I wouldn’t call that a non-qualifier as long as he’d show situational toughness and ability, leadership and improved command of the position overall like they did. That plus the physical evaluation before the draft needs to happen before I’d be comfortable with the certainty of a 1st pick or the prospect of generational player ya know?

Now I agree that he is not A #1 pick even after this year...... he is real good though but plays crap competition. If he played against the SEC every week and did what he did to Bama, well that’s a different story....

I think he’s a great college player with the potential to be the things Roger said, he just needs more seasoning and we need more data before making those claims. He was actually better vs ranked opponents so that’s another good sign but we don’t know if he can read coverage or play under center yet. Clemson ran screen plays on 1 of every 3 passes last season.

I agree. But you kinda said he wasn’t that much of a factor for Clemson last year which is just not true..... he was way more than a game manager.......

That’s not what I said dude, you’re misunderstanding. I said he was the player who put them over the top, they were already a contender before him, he was the piece that completed the team not the driving force. For example you wouldn’t say Matt Mauk was the driving force behind the 03 team but he was the player that allowed the team to elevate, he provided the missing ingredient.

Lawrence had a TON of help from his WRs - at least 4 circus catches. Without those 4 crazy catches, lawrence would have been 16 of 32... 50%

Those aren’t circus catches and you can’t rewrite history because you don’t know if hedve just made the next play or not. Each play you erase creates an unknown you can’t account for so unless it’s the final play of the game or the end of their opportunities your theory is complete nonsense.

If you didn't see the Clemson WRs bail Lawrence out with circus catches, then you don't know shite about football. if only the 2 unreal snags above were incomplete, then Lawrence would have been 18 of 32... 56%
