Am I the only one on here completely scratching my head over McElwain?

First the guy is annoying as hell to listen to AND to look at. Second, he's thin skinned. Third, is everyone at UF so delusional that they don't realize that they beat us in score only? We dominated the entire game but somehow found a way to give it to them in the end. If that doesn't happen (which is shouldn't have), they probably don't make it to the SEC CG from the weakest division.

He hasn't proven shite yet. I'm not sure why they're all reportedly so warm and fuzzy over him. Frankly, I'm not sure that they are. If I was looking for a value bet, that's where I'd put my money.

What HC in all of college football doesn't need good assistants to win? Y'all act like the assistants are the ones running the program.

On one hand people say Ed O can't coach. On the other people say well if he loses the game he will be fired or looked at as an incompetent coach. HOW if he's not making the call?? You can't have it both ways idiots. Ed O is much more involved in this team then you people want to admit.

He gives his coordinators an overall plan for LSU in a particular week then let's the coaches implement that plan how they like. Theres no freakn way the HC just goes blindly into the week without any imput. I'm sure they meet at the start of the week as a staff and come up with weaknesses/strengths of LSU and the opponent for that week. They all give suggestions on how they want to attack then the OC/DC come up with a specific plan. He's the main recruiter, he's a jokester, lightens up the team when needed, he also cracks down when necessary, he chooses who plays at what position with the advice from his assistants. He's the leader of this team and its obvious to me that this team is following his lead. Now will players mess up? Of course they will, they're 18 and 20, did you mess up?

The kids leaving the program won't be a trend in the future IMO, will it happen yes, it's called attrition. It will also happen much more in your first year, since you're changing the culture. The kids that are dedicated to him, will go to war for him, and their teammates. He's demanding that they practice with more intensity, while being more precise in their technique, but shorten up practice so they stay fresh come game day.

If he sees that the coaches need help, he's hired help for the coaches, having the foresite to know they need more crisp technique in areas, BEFORE the season starts. I'm seeing quite a few injuries from practice, which tells you how tough these practices are. Now if it starts to hurt the team, he may have to adjust this, but I think it's only for the offseason. Once the season gets underway you've got game reps to go off of. It's too late to train during the season. They can game plan but the work is put in now for the season. That's what they are doing. The injuries should slow down from practices, unless it's a freak thing. If you aren't excited about this season something is seriously wrong with you. GT

Nick Saban's odds of being fired are 1/100000000000000000000000

No way. He is a perfect fit here. He walks like us, talks like us and is us. THAT is what we want. Now Ole Miss want to do better than 3-21 and of course Bama wants championships. But we want someone who talks and walks like us, winning records be damned.

We do not want NC and playoff bowl appearances. Hell we fired Les Miles for winning them. We want an ole baw.

The reason I said the chances of him being able to retain two elite coordinators simultaneously is slim was because coordinators move on and there is a good chance that a top coordinator won't be available to replace the previous one. But since O hired Canada, Freeze, and retained Aranda you want me to equate that to him always being able to maintain two elite coordinators at all times . I wouldn't even expect Nick Saban to be able to do that man. I'm being a fricking realist about the situation.

Looks like I could have made a decent profit on this one.
