O is our HC and I support him. O doing well means LSU is doing well.

As for 2017, IF we beat NDame and finish 10-3 I will be pleased for O's first season as HC. We finished in the top 4 of the SEC which is always my floor-goal for LSU.

2018 is gonna be tough, but, imo, it is how we do in 2019 that makes or breaks O's regime.

Moments after Saban gives us a mercy knee in the red zone with time on the clock that would have made it a 21 point loss and covered the spread.

How dumb is this thinking? The final score matters that much to you? What would you have said if we had punted on fourth down on that last drive, eliminating this "mercy kneel" scenario? We still lost. And we still played much better than most people, myself included, thought we would. But, a loss is a loss, no matter how close or wide the margin. If Orgeron doesn't figure out a way to beat Alabama very soon, he'll be gone. Period. And you'll have to find something else to be miserable about.

But, there were things to be encouraged about. I thought we were better prepared and better coached than Alabama this year. They just executed better and that was the difference.

Also, Bama wasn't decimated by injuries going into that game. Our guys took it to them.

Now explain to me this “train wreck” on the inside in as much detail as possible

the o line?
the qb situation?
the yearly post bama malaise?
the transfers/defections?
the aging approach to offense?

o inherited a less than perfect situation, dealt with it without making excuses and came away with a 9 win season in the sec west. but let's not give him any credit.

Post the record for the last 5 full years of the Miles era.

Hmm. Let's see. Oh, well that would include the 2011 season wouldn't it? You won't find a Tiger fan alive, even the ones who can see that Miles lost it after 01/09/12, who would say that that season wasn't special. And by the way, I would submit that The Honey Badger deserves as much credit for the success of that season as Miles does, if not more. But I digress.

So in refusing to play your game with those dumbass rules, I'll look at his last four full seasons... If you can't see the decline this program was in then you are fricking blind.

And I was not a fan of the hire but I believe in giving the guy a fricking chance at least. The assholes on this board who speak in absolutes about how there is no way LSU will ever succeed with Orgeron make me fricking sick.

this is so stupid and people keep repeating it. first, the sec is still the best conference. second, lsu has a very respectable sos. according to sbnation, lsu is 23rd in sos. but keep saying stupid crap

No doubt. Not only is he one of those assholes I referenced speaking in absolutes, but he is one condescending prick to boot.

1. people are harping on troy without giving credit for the good aspects
2. the team trended upwards which was a refreshing change
3. especially in the 2nd half of the season, lsu made better second half adjustments than the opponents which is unequivocally good coaching
4. o is pointedly addressing needs in recruiting. that is VERY encouraging

i was not a fan of the hire. however, i can give credit where credit is due and i think there is ample reason to be optimistic. lsu has two of the best coordinators in the business and as long as o stays in his lane, lsu has a chance to be great

This is spot-on accurate and very rational, yet some jackass downvoted it right away. Some of you people truly are just fricking children.

All three post-Bama opponents were bad enough to fire their coaches. I realize O can't control the quality of opponent, but beating tomato cans doesn't prove anything.

We also weren't making radically different play calls in the second half. We were just physically superior and the opponents couldn't hang.

If you're a CheeriO, the best thing to hang your hat on is that the team didn't quit after Troy.

what do you people not understand about how sos works? lsu has a respectable sos which means you are taking the opponents' records out of context, i.e. not comparing lsu's opponents to everyone else's opponents. my gosh this just isn't brain surgery.

Any time there is a positive thread, you will find the usual suspects melting at the thought of anything positive. Justice, Brazos, Earl, goldrush, and a host of several more. Not sure if they are part of chicken's army, opposing fans, or just young dumb kids. As for 1988, all I can say is wow. He is even more sad and pathetic than most on here. At least the kids are young and dumb but will eventually grow up. 1988 is way past that point yet still acts like an emotional little kid.

With just slightly above average QB play in that game LSU wins by 2 TDs.
