Other than the last drive and a couple of plays on the previous one, Max didn’t look good either. Go back and watch his first set of three drives earlier in the game. The play calling didn’t do him any favors, but he wasn’t better. There was a reason they went back to Finley.
Neither is good enough to take the job full time right now and they will likely have to rotate on Saturday no matter who starts. I do think it makes sense to start Johnson in this particular game, but I also don’t think it’s going to make a lot of difference in the end. Both will okay because both will have struggles.

Let's go back over the season and see who's been better ,not last game. Tj was great against Arkansas and South Carolina, max hasnt been great ever.
If you are going to win this game it's not with max let's get real. At least tj has an arm and the size to take the hits while delivering the ball.
