If he isn't offered something at some capacity, it would be very questionable to me as to why he wouldn't be considered. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for him not to be a candidate.

I don't think Brick would be much of a down grade from chavis. He's been calling in the plays on the sideline for 6 years. Our scheme hasn't changed. Have no reason to believe he can't continue that.

Lol, 2 of those guys made an NFL roster, 1 is still with the dolphins and the 3rd will be drafted this year. Let me guess, its bricks fault Montgomery was a dumb arse.

Yeah I hate to be that guy, but krags can't be here for much longer can he? shite put coach o in that role until the vote to expand the coaches.

Krags is just in that recruiting administrator role rt?

What people are forgetting is the coaches convention coming up, we may have to wait until that is over.

I know people will say Les is dragging his feet, but he didn't just hire the first oline coach he interviewed. I want him to get us the best scenario. Sometimes that takes time.

Possibly, but I understand why. Brick's son has autism. Brick has a foundation he set up here and has done great things in the community for autistic kids. But I get it, cut throat industry. Just isn't Miles MO.

All 3 of them were very highly recruited. Freak was the #1 DT and the #5 player in the nation. His career at LSU was about as dissapointing as I've seen for a player of his talent coming in. Montgomery digressed his last season. Rasco never made the leap to one of the best DE's in the conference that was expected, though he was a solid contributor. Point being he's not coaching the highly touted guys he is able to bring in. And on top of that he is finishing second with too many other DL prospects. So either he is missing on his true targets and having to take scraps (certainly not the case with the above 3), or he is just not that good at coaching them. CL didn't improve, DG was a freshman, QT was hurt. Rasco and Hunter were good but nowhere near great. We have 4 and 5 stars behind them that can't get on the field. Who do you look at in a situation where one group of the D is not producing? Position coach would be my first stop.

People that are shitting their pants that the hire hasn't been announced yet aren't living in reality.

It's a complicated issue with a staff thats largely locked up and under contract save for the DC. You can't just go firing people to replace them with people who are available.

To me the only real possibility of having Ogre on staff is by promoting Haley. There is no guarantee O will then in turn sign as dl coach either. He's backed out before.

100% yes with no argument. This game is about recruiting. 50% of recruits have picked their favorite by the 10th grade... they "love that school." So the battle is for the other 50%. Get the best recruits and coaches somehow become brilliant... Haley gives us continuity. Orgeron gives us fresh, Cajun blood and a great fit... A little like Bum Phillips being a coach with the Houston Oilers back in the day. "It just made sense." Orgeron at LSU makes so much sense for the recruiting trail that it will probably never happen.

That's very commendable, but not reason enough on its own for Les to promote him to DC. If Les wants to promote Brick, then he needs to bring in Orgeron as DL coach. Brick is a safe hire because he'll likely just keep the same schemes that Chavis has been running. Maybe Les thinks that promoting Brick would convince the underclassmen to stay, but it doesn't appear they will. I was really hoping that Miles would make a home run hire, and now it looks like he may lose out on a coach who has come out and said that he wants to come to LSU.

Give me Brick and O. Talent wins games more than coaching. Can you imagine the recruiting classes we would get with those two?

I'm just afraid the guy from yale will get the gig and if that's the case, this program will continue to be medicore.

Yeah. I remember the dual DC fiasco before Chavis was hired. Best of luck...
