If LSU had any desire to hire him, he wouldn't be in the radio as much as he has. That's his second appearance on that show, among others, in one week. He is getting paid for those appearances and the hosts know a lot of LSU fans will listen. O won't even be considered for any position at LSU.

He's been a weekly guest on the show for a long time now. Similar to Corey Webster and Kevin Mawae. He also fills in in the studio sometimes when either DP or JC is out. So it isn't like he set up these radio interviews to get his name out there or anything.

Because they are looking at him at the same spot we are, d-line coach. I don't think anyone is going to offer a d-coordinator spot to him yet

Diaz is a solid recruiter as well which you don't want to give them two new additions like that to their staff. Now when it comes to coaching, there's questions on Diaz, especially if he faces BYU

Didn't Moo St already get a defensive coordinator???
Yes, Manny Diaz who was Mack Brown's DC when Texas had zero defense. Diaz was fired from Texas in 2013 after BYU ran up about three thousand yards on them in a game.

Everyone bought into the hype on day 1 with CP and coach O. I want him on the staff but it isn't either we hire him championship, we don't hire him, losing seasons in a couple years. It seems some people think this way.

Well he did well recruiting at Texas. He just couldn't put a comparable product on the field, especially against the Stormin Mormons

I think its more that people get a recruiting boner with the idea of Frank and Coach O on the same staff

He is a recruiting guru.

He needs to be on the staff immediately.

God forbid we have two guys on the same staff who can help keep more Louisiana kids in-state.

Doesn't the DC have a say so in who he wants ? i think many of you are overlooking the fact that not allowing the DC to choose may be a deal breaker for a quality DC

Yeah but this is the rant. No reason to wait for Les.

It's just the waiting game for now. I personally don't think we promote Haley, so unless he leaves Orgeron won't be coaching here.

Not necessarily true. Ed O is the media's only shot at hoping for some Intel into the situation at LSU. For the most part, it has been a very quiet ordeal and everyone is going crazy wanting that "inside information". Ed would be the most likely candidate to know what's going on either with him or CP.

We need him on this staff or mark my words he will be at another SEC school and between losing Chavis and not hiring Coach O, our d recruits will basically be gone. The guy is that good. Promote Brick to DC, have him coach the LB's and then hire Coach O. If they don't, the fence is down and down for good.

it would be good if Coach O came in no-one disagrees with that.

But I think some people on this board thing if we don't bring in Coach O Miles should be fired. NOOOOOOOOO

If we bring in a guy like Shoop our defense will still be very good, than it will come down to QB play.

LSU has had plenty of good classes without Coach O. It's not like we are all of a sudden going to suck at recruiting just because Coach O is in the SEC. LSU still has a lot of weight behind it especially for our defense. MSU not as much.
