Canada apparently felt Brennen was better and was willing to go through the learning curve with him even if it caused more losses. he may not have realized the pressure to win now at LSU and the SEC in general.

It was more about how with Brennan he wasnt limited in play calls and could use the entire playbook as opposed to etling was very limited but he wouldn't turn the ball over cause he couldn't make throws over the middle in tight coverage si he wouldn't attempt it.

That doesnt mean O was right. It just means he went with the more conservative approach.

You know who doesnt do that? Winning coaches, Meyer, Herman, Saban, Fisher, Sweeney.

listening to his OC is not the same thing as doing everything the OC says

No one said to do everything the OC says but okay.

Not gonna argue business with you or my work experience. I'll just say I have no disagreement about doing your job to the best of your ability.

I’m sure that was it and it may have been a decent plan. I was trying to make a point (sarcastically) about all of the second guessers and know it alls on this site that seem to have all the answers and complain about anything and everything just to justify their position on things no matter what.

Dammit. Won't even let the best OC in the country pick his guy.

He said nothing of the sort. He said he has final say in the decision...which is true.

I would bet whoever E thinks should get the job will be the same guy O picks. This is all for perception

If Canada was so brilliant thinking Brennan should be the starter over Etling and now he’s still not good enough yet to keep us from needing a transfer to upgrade.......? Has the thought ever occurred to some people that maybe if O hadn’t “meddled “ things would have possibly been worse last year?

Tell me the games we relied on Etling to win.

Odds are, we'd have about the same record, have an experienced QB returning instead of open competition, and possibly still have Canada.

People might not like that, but it'd mean we were actually developing as an offense, instead of changing over once again.

If we're ever going to make a run, I think we'll need a QB with 3 years in the same system, who knows it enough to really run it well.
Burrow doesn't have that time, he's only got 2 years and is starting cold like the rest. He might be more talented, but we need experience as much as talent.

O probably told Burrow to "sign with us. It's your QB job to take." You don't transfer just to sit on the bench or hold a clipboard.

However this was what first rubbed Canada wrong because he wanted Brennan where O overruled him and said Etling.

Which is proof that Canada was an insufferable arse with zero read for a QB.

There's a reason etling is the heir apparent to Brady at the moment.

We didn't appreciate what we had and the rant should be ashamed of themselves for bad mouthing that kid. He worked his arse off and is easily a top 5 qb that LSU has ever had.
