Well,
I’m just gonna say it.
I’m over 50, engineering degree, spent my first career as a Military officer, pretty well established in my second career in business, have kids that go to LSU and am otherwise pretty mature.
And I laugh my arse off every time they play neck.
You want to down vote me or call me trailer park, you can STTDB :)
36, two kids under the age of 4, independently wealthy and retired.
STTDB
All day.
Every day.
fricking prudes

43, son 9th grade, daughters in 4th and 2nd grade. 10 years ago I remember T. Holliday dancing to neck during a timeout. It really fired him and the team up. That was before the profanity got too bad. Now, I let out a big Ric Flair “Wooooo!” At the right moment so the girls wont hear it. I don’t want my little girls hearing that garbage.
The problem is not that there is cussing at an LSU game. There always has been. The problem is it is a coordinated chant of 25,000 students and recent alumni (under 22, as you say) and the admin is not going to allow it. You can say the admins are prudes, but the students are the ones who have decided they don’t want Neck played. Like it or not, they know the rules. They would rather curse and only hear it once or twice a season, at best.

Why can’t they understand this simple fricking fact?? They never, ever can comprehend this.

I just find it amusing that LSU seems to be the only team in the country under a microscope for their naughty chant. It's done all over the country. Hell, UH yells "The mother fricking Cougars". Where's the outcry for that?

I love Neck and believe it needs to be played. I don’t get as bummed as a lot of people my age about the language, but I do have a solution to this problem.
All of the rest of the stadium needs to have a new chant to drown out the STTDB chant. Just like what happens with the first down cheer, when most people say “LSU” and the students say “Kick their arse!” They could say “STTDB” and everybody else could shout “Tigers gonna win this!” Or something like that. That chant could be put on the screens so everybody could learn the words.
LSU could get a lot of mileage out of this, by using the media to publicize this effort and have A contest to select the new chant.
As far as some incentives for people to stay in the second half, have former LSU players come each game and lead cheers or Hey Fighting Tigers And Calling Baton Rouge.

This shite I heard around me in the stands at LSU games is just as bad if not worse. So that's horseshite
Yea, 414 is generally tame, but it takes one drunken 22 yr old to ruin it one game a year.
They use a parents or grandparent's season tickets and plop down near us, puke in their spit cup, and yell shite all game that's much worse than STTDB.
We roll with it and laugh it off. And my kids know that "being that guy" is not cool or acceptable, just tolerable.

Theyre words.
They are just words.
Even children know that sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you. Don't be a sky screaming, snowflake, liberal who wants speech codes.
Also, have some sense of history and your place in time. Some of the things you likely say yourself or allow your kids to say today would have been seen as incredibly insulting in times past. Saying God damn, hell, crap, a bunch of strange and unknown words by anybody today or insulting a man's honor or suggesting that his wife plays it fast and loose would have gotten you slapped across the face with an empty glove and challenged to a gun fight to the death.
What makes you think your trigger words in your time and place are special? Maybe accept that you suffer from Golden Age syndrome and recognize that the generations in front of you don't value certain words the same as you do and vice versa.
Saying 'hell', 'goddamn', 'crap' , 'arse', 'boob' or 'penis' in front of my mummaw in Brandon Mississippi back in 1987 and you'd be pulling your own switch and your pants down. But you could scream 'faag' & 'niiggerr' all day and she wouldn't look up from her knitting needles. Now reverse that for today's millennials.
Now do you see how ridiculous this all is?
Words, bro
fricking words.

The students should just start chanting STTDB without the music.
