Ed Orgeron had to say

On Tua Tagovailoa:
“I think he’s the best player in college football. I think he’s very instinctive. He has a good release. They got him in the right offense. He’s a great young man. I know he and his family. Again, I think he’s the best player in college football.”

On how unbeaten Alabama has played thus far:
"It’s one of the highest levels I have ever seen in college football. They are being coached great every day. They have great players. They have the No. 1 recruiting classes. It’s who everyone aspires to beat. If you want to have the No. 1 recruiting class and want to be in the national championship and win national championships, they are doing it. They are the benchmark in college football right now.”
Orgeron went on to call Nick Saban the greatest coach in the history of college football.

Rat poison.

I love that he's throwing a lot of it out there.

that's what you are supposed to say. Charlie Mac did it and so did Bear Bryant. It is just common courtesy and a way to get your players fired up.

Solid ego booster (if it can get any higher)

LSU has been told they aren't good enough all season and this is just the next installment on a great season to prove others wrong. It's our time.

Its true and I hope that Bama players believe that. Reminds me of this guy I use to play golf with. He would talk about how this person was so good while he was kicking their arse. They never felt bad about getting their arse kicked and he seem to convince them they were always better than the skills they had.

Harbaugh used to do this but in a much more intentional sarcastic way about USC/Pete Carroll when Harbaugh was at Stanford. I actually think Orgeron is stating the obvious. They are the number 1 team on paper because they sign #1 classes every year and they are coached by one of the best defensive coaches in this generation.

The idea that one must "sweet talk" their opponents to death has been around for decades. No need to give your opponent "bulletin-board" material. It was exactly what I would have wanted Coach O to say.
