I don’t particularly like JBE, but he may be the biggest LSU fan in the Governor’s Mansion since Gov. McKeithen.
That’s a good thing for LSU and honestly, right now JBE needs Coach O more from a PR standpoint that Coach O needs JBE.
And if Coach O gets another NATTY, he may not just get a statute on campus, he may get a plot !!!!

Coach Saban is from a WV border town near Ohio. Grew up in old school blue collar Union area. His family like many Ethnic Catholic families in that part of the country were core Democrats during the Truman, JFK presidencies. My wife's family Polish-Catholic and mine Italian-Catholic were the same way. So Saban being a Democrat is not surprising. I would not call him a leftist but more of the traditional Democrat who does not really exist that much anymore, at least the Truman/JFK era democrats. All you need to know about the modern American Democrat party is that Biden is to right for them.

Coach O not sure about his politics but I do think he is not a Republican. Maybe an Independent, maybe his is an ole Yellow Dawg Democrat.

For the record, I am a registered Independent in my 50's who has never voted for a Democrat for President. In my lifetime, I have voted for former LA Senators J.B. Johnston, John Breaux, etc in Statewide elections and other LA Democrats in the past in local elections.
