Make a rubric for what you think makes up a good OC.

Why did E allow such a scheme? Was he not the OC?

So you think it is reasonable to run a shitty version of an offense?

1. Answer the question
2. He's already pushed aside. I like the guy and want him to cash a paycheck, but i don't have to pretend he is an amazing OC.
Why are you defending the guy who wasted half of Burrow's starting career?
3. This thread has taken some turns. lets be real.

He was named passing game coordinator in January of 2018. Why did we do that in January if the goal was to move to an RPO/Spread ASAP?

No one transitions between offenses
they install their playbook. Sure maybe they don't run 100% of their new offense the first year, but they don't run plays not in the playbook.
Last years offense was our best attempt at running a modern spread/rpo offense with a 59 year old OC and a 70 year PGC who have never coached in a Spread/RPO offense

This is just getting sad for you. You'd think the guy that called for Burrow to own college football this year wouldn't be so miserable while it's happening.

Right?
He made the boldest take ever and is being proven 100% RIGHT
and now he is spoiling his record knighting for people who didn't help his boy.
I am also convinced he is a Ree alter.

But, LSU now has the highest scoring offense in the nation.
It ain't broke. Don't fix it.

My point was they had no intention of running what we're running today. If they had, they would not have made the move they did in Sullivan and Ensminger.
Now...did they promise Burrow that? I'm sure they did! Coaches promise all kinds of shite, and I'd bet burrow was pissed most of last year as he was forced under center and into bad spots thanks to that terrible scheme.
I'd assume all of that was what forced their hand this off season to go get Brady (or for our OSU tourist, ANY RPO specialist) in order to get this thing installed and up and running.
This idea that we were slowly morphing into this last year is some new spin that is kind of funny.

There's hard proof that you aren't though, so you refusal to admit Brady has made this offense what it is is baffling.

and not he is spoiling his record knighting for people who didn't help his boy.
And Brady did an A++ job of it. There's far more to doing an OC's job than the fun part on the practice field. This team works (E and Brady). Why frick that up?
Pay Brady top dollar? Hell yes. But screw up the current system? THAT seems extremely risky to me.

O just wanted an OC he could trust.
He always liked and trusted E.
BUt this is what E described in his first press conference, but he literally has never coached in an offense like this. And then we hired Sullivan to help him figure it out.

I can tell you what it means...which is that in January of 2018 they had ZERO thoughts of running what we're running today. None.
I credit them for deciding it was broken and getting it fixed regardless of what that meant to their own egos (it's something I wish Miles had been willing to do) but this need to go back and pretend that last year was some stepping stone to this one is absurd.
Again...if Orgeron and Ensminger are not worried about bruised egos in having to admit they needed to go find a young guy to implement what they could not on their own, why do so many here feel the need to retcon last year's offensive season in order to make it look better than it was? The REASON we have this year what we do, is BECAUSE last year was a failure* on that side of the ball.
* Waiting for Buckeye to focus only on this word and pretend nothing else was typed...

So was the offense broke in 2018?
Seems like Brady fixed it
And now youre giving credit to the guy who broke it.

And then there's the part where E has delivered the highest scoring offense in the nation. Who cares how?
