E went out and got the X'x & O's talent needed. THAT is why he was a GREAT hire.

That's not his job. HIS job is to run the offense, not find someone to run the offense.

Right, because generally people don't give underperfoming OCs a chance to hire someone to do their job.

Why are you obsessed with do-it-yourself projects? E brought in a specialist. In my world, that is the intelligent move to make.

Why re-invent the wheel. Brady has a PhD in this offense.

why can't you just admit that E was not capable of putting this offense together and that Brady did it?

You're already all but saying it.

the question is

why is bringing in E LAST YEAR a good move for O to make, if E needs to turn around in bring in a "specialist"

also how can you call Brady a "Specialist" when every aspect of our offense is better.

We have different outlooks. In business, I NEVER hesitated to pay for the best outside consultants I could find for new projects. Never regretted it. They always paid for themselves many times over.

The proof is in the pudding. That offense is a friggin' Swiss watch. Could either Brady or E achieved that alone. Hell no, IMO.

IN business if you found out one of your assistant managers was doing your managers job, how long would you keep that manager around?

Thats fine when the assistant manager is making assistant manager money. When you have to pay him manger money, the old manager becomes redundant

are redundancies good for your bottom line?

Its opinion when it comes to Brady

Its fact when it comes to E.

I am not sure what you are basing the Brady opinion on.

So you DO think E is dispensable? Even though the work-product O&E and Brady have produced is the nation's highest scoring offense?

oh yeah

i definitely think that.

We don't have to fire him. But lets be real, Brady is running this offense.

Change in scheme
Change in strategy
Change in tendencies

Thats all coaching related

So what changed from last years staff?

And you'd risk fricking the whole thing up just because you have a "feeling" that E may be featherbedding?

It ain't broke. DON'T fix it!!

Like i said we at this point there is no need to fire him

But anyone with a brain knows who is responsible for this offense being good.

I don't really know why you're knighting for a guy that handcuffed Joe Burrow last year. You are the #1 Burrow guy on this board.

Last year and this year. The totally different scheme with completely different results. Quotes from all involved. What the hell else do you need?

Given the fact that we saw what Ensminger produced on his own last year with largely the same personnel, and we have a resume of average at best offenses he's installed and run versus the immediate and statistically undeniable impact the inclusion of Brady has made on the offense...Ensminger likely IS dispensable.

Now...do I want to fire Ensminger in favor of Brady if both are willing to continue this set-up next season? Of course not! But if you told me that one of them had to go for the 2020 season and I had to choose which one, you would not have to finish your sentence before I answered "We keep Brady."

This Spread/RPO is exactly the offense that E promised the Burrow's on their visit to BR. A full season to gear up for the current product does NOT seem unreasonable to me.

Basical deduction and reasoning schools

E alone = shitty offense

E + Brady = AMAZING offense

that math aint hard to do.

What parts of last year's scheme geared us up for what we're doing now?

This is an interesting little twist, isn't it? Not to mention, Brady is the one that seemed to advocate for his pet project...MORE JUGGS REPS!!!

So you think it is reasonable to run a shitty version of an offense?

Why

Getting rid of Sullivan's antiquated scheme sure helped.
