Coach Al Ott passed yesterday at 86 Member of '58 National Title Team and Nola Area Coach

Condolences to Jimmy and the Ott family

At one time had 47 former players on college rosters...coached at Karr

Here is a story. He was from Gretna, same as Hall of Famer, Mel Ott. I guess there is some relationship. Mel Ott died in a car crash in 1958.

He coached me one year at Karr. Great guy, always wore his NC ring and would talk to me about that team. He’s coached some NFL greats. Pat Surtain was on my team, Ralph Norwood. I’m sure there are more.
