In fairness, from what I saw last night, I think it’s probably a little bit of both.
What surprised me most last night was the team speed of LSU’s defense. I mean, everyone knows that Kiffin’s offensive philosophy is predicated upon speed and getting that speed into open space so it can work. Last night we saw an incredibly fast and aggressive LSU defense. I wasn’t ready for that.

He’s still a really good coach. He just doesn’t have a whole lot of talent under the new model. If Clemson hires him a GM and goes that route and takes advantage of the transfer portal and NIL then they could be relevant again in fairly short order.
FWIW, there were two Clemson fans sitting by us surrounded by LSU fans and they got really obnoxious and loud after that first interception off of Levitt. Needless to say they got quieted real quickly and didn’t last half into the second quarter. they ran out of that area as fast as you could.
