They're not in pads about to take the field. Not at all an intelligent comparison.

It’s a Tiger Cub. Get it? Y’all are taking all this shite way too seriously. This is all stuff that was introduced from 1900s-1940s. It’s college football. Older traditions.

They certainly still cater to the older, white bread crowd. I appreciate it but you need to start working in more modern things at some point. It's almost as if they have too many traditions and then they had paw paw on the PA telling everyone to stay for the new Alma mater tradition. It really is a clash of cultures and we need to remember that LSU certainly has a lot more trashniess than clemson and they are way more white bread. Hell, most of the black people in that town were on the field

Wait, you think the team doesn’t warm up on the field before the game?

The running down the hill isn’t the first time they are in the stadium. The hill and touching the rock are just part of their weird tradition (like us hitting the WIN bar and running through the goalposts through the band).

Since the early 1940s fans and students were allowed the go straight to the middle of the field after the game to sing the Alma Mater. This goes back to the beginning of the school when all students were military cadets. Until THIS YEAR due to conference fines the fans are told to wait until both teams exit the field to enter the field. So now the Alma Mater is sung in the stands. There are images going back into the 40s with fans entering the field. It’s not new or contrived.

And dang. Get a permanent cannon installed. And make it an actual cannon instead of a popgun on a dolly

Then why announce it as new? If I am wrong then fine but it certainly was said as new several times

Totally agree. Need more rap music, individual celebrations, murder gestures, etc. Those things really embody what college athletics are supposed to be about

Times change. Some of those traditions made sense but do you think Alma maters really matter these days? You keep the traditions b3cause it isnt a big deal to do so and upset donors. All jokes aside, none of this is a big deal but whoever handles concessions should be let go. That shite was inexcusable

The “new” part was waiting for the teams to leave the field while singing the Alma Mater. Until this year you could go on the field with the players and coaches (of both teams).

They obviously do, but it makes more sense to get to the stadium early, rather than doing the dog and pony show. It allows more time away from distractions.
