Claude's response to this mess

I asked Claude about what are the SEC's weakest points. Here's what it said.
1. Thursday is a math problem, and the math is good. Expulsion requires 11 of 16 votes. We only need 6 to block it. The pitch to those 6 isn't about Kiffin. It's: if a supermajority can expel a founding member over a legal position, nobody's membership is safe, and ESPN just watched the conference destabilize the product it paid billions for.
2. They admitted it's pretextual. Paragraph 94 says they'll move to expel us "whether LSU renounces its intention to roster and play professional players on its football team, or not." They put in writing that our compliance doesn't matter. That sentence follows them for the next two years.
3. We complied. We didn't do it. LSU never rostered Wright or Harris. Their entire "irreparable harm" argument rests on a violation that never happened. Two open roster spots aren't a violation, and their own filing concedes adding players later is legal if spots are open.
4. The vote was pre-cooked. Their complaint says the other 15 presidents met Sept 4 without Rousse and reached a "consensus" to expel us. They call it "informal." Deciding a member's expulsion in a meeting that member is barred from is a basic fairness problem, and their lawyers clearly knew it, which is why the filing works so hard to downplay it.
5. Antitrust is the leverage. Fifteen competitors agreeing to expel a sixteenth is a group boycott. Treble damages on $50M+ a year in conference distributions. Every president voting Thursday has to price that risk before they raise a hand.
6. And this is forum shopping. They lost in Baton Rouge, then filed in Birmingham. They're now asking a federal judge to bar Louisiana's AG from filing lawsuits or speaking publicly. A plaintiff claiming First Amendment injury wants a court to gag a state attorney general.
Where we're genuinely exposed: courts defer to private associations, and Kiffin handed them about a third of their exhibits with his own mouth. Best thing he can do now is stop talking.
But for Sankey to try to gag a state AG is BOLD

What I'd do:
Before Thursday, file in Louisiana for a declaration that the expulsion process is void, and send a preservation letter to all fifteen member institutions demanding everything around the Sept 4 meeting. In Alabama, answer defensively, preserve every jurisdictional objection, and fight the TRO on the Anti-Injunction Act and prior-restraint grounds.
Then have counsel make sure every president knows, before they vote, exactly what the antitrust exposure looks like. The counterclaim you never have to file because six people voted no is worth more than the one you win in 2029.

sorry, but I do not want a bunch of AI slop being posted on the site...try to at least make it sound like your own opinion...

ESPN owns the media rights to SEC. If LSU is kicked out, ESPN will have something to say.
LSU would then be able to shop for a massive TV deal.
This isn't really a loss for LSU lol.
