I'm a little confused as to how we're getting this projection. Assuming an Alabama SEC Champ, Alabama goes to the CFP semi, Auburn will be the second highest ranked SEC going to the Sugar, and isn't the next highest ranked SEC team supposed to go to the Citrus? With Florida losing to Alabama, their SEC record would be 6-3 vs our 5-3, with them winning the head to head, and I doubt they would drop behind us in the rankings from the Alabama loss.

I've been anticipating the Citrus bid for a few days, but I'm just now realizing it's an impossibility.

Any input?

Also, barring a VT upset over Clemson, the opponent (given the most recent CFP rankings) would have been Louisville and not FSU.

Because Florida will drop out of top 25 after they lose 41-0 to Bama
Or are you just trolling?

I think Florida still goes to the Citrus, whether the SECCG is a blowout or is close.

They go by CFP ranking first, not SEC record

The Citrus Bowl is the first bowl that gets to "ask the SEC" which team they want.

It depends on the gamble the Citrus Bowl wants to take. A higher-ranked LSU (after SECCG) will bring a good crowd to Orlando for what should be a great game with Louisville. There's a chance Florida would get blown out since their offense is crap.

if it's FSU that goes. I doubt the would match them up with Florida being that they just played against each other.

Well from what I understand the SEC is still the organization that puts teams in bowls. I know they try and follow the rule but they still have some leeway and I truly don't think the citrus bowl wants a repeat of the FSU "if they make it" and UF game especially with the score of last week still in their minds.

Plus uf went to, & got blown out, to the Citrus Bowl last year. They don't present s very appealing case, especially on the heels of a skull dragging in the SECC game, for a return visit.

Outside of the CFP and the Sugar Bowl rankings do not matter. The ranking of the bowls is just a means of allowing certain bowls to have a choice of teams, likely in conjunction with the SEC and ESPN. No automatic slotting for bowls exists outside of the CFP and the Sugar.

This is pretty rich: SEC caught in the middle of the UF v LSU vice.
Once again.

This is the most likely scenario. Both teams have a fan base that travels well and will pump some $$$ into the Orlando community. UF v FSU will not bring in that outside $$$.

I believe the conference and citrus have a handshake agreement that the same team doesn't go two years in a row. Florida went last year so they're projecting LSU this year

Florida has been to the Citrus several times lately. That fact might make them less likely to get that bid. Maybe the Outback might be a better fit for them.

Not trolling at all, just curious. I was under the assumption it was a by the books ranking based on conference play. After reading the input I requested from those on this board, I have been given much needed information that points to the validity of an LSU citrus bowl bid, which is exactly what I wanted.

Thanks tRant
