Les said both JJ and JL will start
I think this could happen depending on team we playing and formation we open game with.
Obviously it shows that Crowton/Miles have faith in Lee and in JJ.
I expect JJ to start but it would not surprise me at the same time to see JL open game at QB, play a series and JJ come in till then.
Who starts doesn't matter as much as who plays significant time.

JJ will be alright its just that we have been spoiled with polished QBs

quote:Well, Bama obviously, but unless JJ was playing safety and QB, he would not have saved us vs. Georgia. When the offense hands the defense a 24 point advantage, and the defense gives up 5 60+ yard TD drives and a FG on a drive starting at the Georgia 35, there's not a whole lot of blame left over for the offense. Yes, the offense could have scored 60 points and probably won the game, but it's not really a "failing" of the offense that they didn't. When the offense gives you a 24 point lead and you don't win, they aren't the big problem.
Or possibly 9, because we may not have lost to Bama or Georgia last year if JJ was qb

Les has never said JL would start, once RS gets some playing time JL is history.
Ciron is a committed christian and was being diplomatic.
JL will not play, JJ and RS will handle qb!
The TP said JL 4th string from spring game!
Show me a link to LES saying JL would start.
I'm sure you wish he would start he threw 4 int's v. Ala. .

JL is the best 3rd string QB in the entire nation!

I have scanned the posts and most of the comments made about last year. What are your observations about the spring game?
IMHO Jarrett Lee was the fourth best performer at QB behind JJ, RS, and CG. JJ looks like a leader who has grown immensely. RS is electric and can throw, but will likely make some rookie mistakes until he gets more experience. He will be exciting to watch. CG impressed the heck out of me. He has vision, a quick release, and a strong accurate throwing arm. He seems to have good vision, looks off receivers and throws based on timing, not waiting for the receiver to get open. JL still looks like last year. He is strong armed and accurate, but he waits for an open receiver, tends to look down his target and throws after the defensive back has read where he is going with the ball.
These observations are based on a small sampling, therefore my opinions can be changed with more evidence. I have not given up on JL. I like him as a courageous kid who never quit under unbelievable criticism. I am glad he is still on the team and I look forward to seeing him play when the game is not on the line. He could still be a future force. Don't forget that Matthew Stafford had a mediocre freshman year. Two years later, #1 in the draft.
However RS will have to be on the field at some time and likely at QB, therefore JL may never get another chance to prove himself. Unless a QB gets hurt, CG will likely RS, however I see great potential in him as well.

That's about the same impression I got.
You can always tell the kids who stand out--from Pop Warner all the way through college.

How many games were you at laast year and watched the replays this year?
All you idots believe we will set the world on fire with a pitiful coach that can't game plan (a-hole Crowton espicially) - would know what I am referring to. Go watch the replay of the Bama game and LISTEN to GARY DANIELS CALL THOSE PLAYS! Gary Daniels was - at best - a Mediocre coach. If he can call the plays why can't Nick Saban call them? Saban is a FANTASTIC defensive coach and a great game coach. So unless something changes with our coaches on OFFENSE we will struggle again this year. Both QB's will play CG will not sniff the field unless there is major injury. RS - <25 plays at QB if that much. JJ and JL will split time. JJ will grow as the season goes on, but expect him to struggle. Watch the Arkansas game when they put a spy on him and the GT game for that matter. AS I recall, LSU struggled in the second half, but the game was over.
