I worked on a project with a guy who's Dad was in the press box that night. He say when the video sound goes down that the LSU guy turned down the volume. Not on purpose.

My brother took me to see a high school game at Istrouma??? to see this new phenom Billy Cannon, telling me how good he was gonna be next year at LSU.
My lasting memory from that day was a play late in the game when Cannon punted from about his own 30. Receiver was star running back for other team.
He caught the punt and began juking all the tacklers off their feet - crossed the 50 all alone - just him and Cannon on that end of field. Cannon still standing on 30 yd line.
the guy juked and changed direction - all to no avail - when he got to the 30, Cannon did a form tackle and planted him right there with his feet sticking up in the air.
Was a fan of Cannon for the rest of my life -

Kinda well known back then was that Billy had a summer "job" as a "bodyguard" for one of the bigger unions.

His book is an excellent read for any Tiger fan. His story of redemption and ethics should be learned by everyone.

He was humbled and in all honesty needed to be. And his response to the humbling was become a better human being, something we should all strive to be - but most of us don't.....he did and succeeded.
