Honestly I’m not fricking with an outfield that could very well be the best in the country

Yeah. Lineup is fine the way it is. No need to mess much with an offense putting up more than 10 runs a game. I think Gio is your DH, if Garza can catch. That seems like the best of both worlds.

Hughes might be a little better defensively

This is the understatement of the year. Hughes is a LOT better defensively because he is far quicker, and he covers more ground. Both players are good with the glove.

You realize Hughes has actually quietly been rising in the lineup. Hes around .270 which is all you need from your worst bat in the lineup when hes one of the better defensive players.

I love Reid and he should see time but hes not a better option than Hughes.

So, we should replace Hughes, who is hitting just under .300 so far, and is as solid defensively as they come, with a slower, less talented defensive player, that would likely also hit just under .300? Makes perfect sense.

Hughes is doing ok now, but come SEC play I think his avg will drop significantly. No trying to poop on the guy nor do I have a preference between him and Reid, but I think it will drop.

You think.

Hughes deserves the shot to prove you wrong and if a time comes that Hughes needs to be sat then it shouldn’t be Reid that replaces him

Although Hughes might be a little better defensively I truly believe Chris Reid's bat would be much better over the course of a season.

No
Reid is one of my all time favorites but no
Hughes starts due to his defense & LSU would like him hitting around .250 per Skip on the radio last week
As of 2/27 he’s hitting .273

Or, put it this way, if it is Reid replacing him, that’s probably not saying much for our team considering we hopefully have more freshman talent this year to take the spot.
