We currently have don’t have any proven SEC-caliber starters at WR

Kyren Lacy was a literal starter on the best offense in college football last year and had 30 catches for 558 yards and 7 TDs. Zavion Thomas was a literal starter at Mississippi State last year, and despite them having the worst passing offense in the SEC, somehow managed to have 40 catches for over 500 yards. You're welcome to argue in your usual negative dumb frick way about where they might be drafted, if they're "All SEC caliber starters," but you are not welcome to argue against the FACTs that both are literally proven SEC-caliber starters.

I don't know where Lacy is projected, but as an also-NFL fan he definitely has my interest. We bitch about the drops, those seem to have gone away last year.
People talk about speed, but Lacy's a big guy. If you go just by websites, Lacy has 25 pounds on Hilton. Go watch some of his blocking, he's a monster.

He's got the frame to be a #1.

You’re not welcome to tell me what I’m welcome to discuss.

Did Lacy actually start last year with MN and BTJ in front of him? He was never higher than the #3 receiver. I guess we’re splitting hairs with that discussion.

Perhaps Zavion Thomas was a starter at Mississippi State though. I stand corrected there.

I was responding to a poster that LSU has 3-4 first round WRs.
No, you were not. You were responding to a poster who said LSU has 3-4 WRs with first round talent. Anyone familiar with pro sports drafts can tell you that lots and lots of people with first round talent fail to make the first round of a draft every year. Injury, poor coaching, lack of commitment, bad luck, or any of a number of other factors can lead to someone with first round talent not turning into an actual first round draft pick. Talent is innate ability. Whether than innate ability is developed fully or not is irrelevant to the fact that the talent is there. It is, however, critical to the question of whether the person ever actually becomes a first round draft pick.

No, there are no hairs to split, there are simply starting lineups. Lacy started 9 games in the regular season for the best offense in the country (and the SEC) last year. You are just wrong.

And what offense in the SEC doesn't start at least 3 WRs these days? Honest question, because I can't think of the last time I saw an SEC team run fewer than 3 WRs in their standard offense. When I think of "starting WRs", in college or pros for that matter, I understand that as at least 3 guys (X, Y, & Z or Slot, usually).

Chris Hilton is unproven. He has talent but at best he is a 7th round pick right now and probably practice squad IMO. He a has a lot to prove his season.

CJ Daniels is a 4-5 rounder right now.

Kyren Lacy is a 6-7th rounder.

This is such a hot take I thought it was a troll at first
