I believe he sits next year. They will have two backs both with two years experience ahead of him that know the system and are both pretty good. The kid from Dallas that died was REALLY good (better than anyone we had this year imho). I could see Curry playing the max allowed for a redshirt, then sitting. He will be their back for tough yards in 2022. Between learning the playbook, learning blocking schemes, and developing chemistry, it is a lot to ask. Good luck to him though. He has a very good chance of finding success there in time. A much better one than if he had stayed at LSU.
