No reason to let him rush back and possibly have a setback, get him ready for the fall.

In layman’s terms, you’re a dumbass. He isn’t going to throw until he’s physically ready.

Shores and Johnson as your 1 and 2 will look really good next year, is all I know.

I think it's more likely to be Anderson and Herring. I think Jay probably has to promise Herring a starting weekend job to get him to come back, and I think Anderson is gonna be an absolute stud by next year. I'm not sure if Johnson projects as a starter or back of the bullpen guy. I'm sure they'd love it if Shores could come back healthy enough to win a weekend rotation job, especially since it'll be his money year/last year at LSU (unless something goes wrong). I just wonder how he'll bounce back after having not pitched competitively for almost 2 years. Others have done it, but a guy with that high velocity trying to go 6-7 every weekend might be too much of an ask. Might not--I'm certainly no expert.

I bet he'll get at least 1 portal guy with SEC weekend stuff to compete for a spot, but I think he goes hard and puts more resources into a bat or 2. We haven't hit great this year, but we're losing White, Travinski, Milazzo, and Bingham for sure, probably Braswell, and probably/maybe Jones, and maybe even Kling if he keeps hitting like did this weekend. I know we've got some young guys who haven't played, but as of right now, I think the only guys you know for sure are gonna be in the lineup next year are Larson, Milam, and probably Neal and Brown.

How much Herring is offered via the draft will determine whether he comes back, not some promise by Jay to make him a starter. TBH, I don’t see Herring as a starter at the next level either. How he’s been used this year has done wonders for his value, however.

In layman's terms, Johnson isn't going to let him throw in what is a basically a season that is over for all intents and purposes. If LSU was in a title hunt, then no problem throwing him.

That contradicts what coach said, which was that to pitch him this year they would have to slow his rehab by having him focus on two pitches. If they did that he would not be fully available next season, as he will be if they ignore this season and focus on rehab.

No scenario would have him unavailable next season.

These 3 are a great start. Throw in Noot Moffett and Johnson and you have a decent bullpen. Now if they can convince Jump to come back the staff will be legit

Latz attended Lemont High School in Lemont, Illinois.[1] Latz pitched to a 10–0 record with a 0.23 ERA and 114 strikeouts over 62+1/3 innings his senior season of high school and was named the 2014 Illinois Player of the Year.[2] He was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 11th round of the 2014 MLB draft, but turned down a $1 million signing bonus and attended Louisiana State University to play college baseball.[3][4] Latz was given a medical redshirt due to a stress reaction in his left elbow that caused him to miss the 2015 season.[5] He played for the DuPage County Hounds of the Midwest Collegiate League in 2015.[6] In 8+1/3 innings for the Tigers in 2016, he went 0–1 with a 7.56 ERA.[7] Latz transferred to Kent State University for the 2017 season and was forced to sit out the season due to transfer rules.[8][9] He was drafted the Texas Rangers in the 5th round of the 2017 MLB draft, and signed with them for a $386,100 signing bonus.[10][8]

IDK, you could be right; it’s just not what the coach said.
