I think the "how many players are being considered for 1B besides dozar/edward?" angle is the most interesting question. Outfield and DH substitutions will happen naturally, but the coach has got to decide pretty soon (within the next few weeks) if he wants to put Lowery or Dykstra or Broussard at first base for the rest of the year.

i plan calling the PM show this week and ask him about guys like eades, broussard, and dykstra at DH/1B

Good. I'll be curious to hear his answer cause I've been wondering about it myself.

We don't have a legit 3 or 4 hole hitter on this team besides mahtook

This...and it has become painfully obvious...

It amazes me how little faith folks have in Nola. I think he is our best clutch hitter besides Mahtook. He is actually quite good with runners in scoring position.

Now he may be asked to make some much needed staff changes

this is what i am thinking .. maineri's seat doesn't warm up, but he will be asked to make some changes in his staff if this season continues in this direction ... two seasons in a row without a home regional will certainly get season ticket holders' attention too ... it's the main reason why prolly 40% of them buy season tix .. so they have their seats for the regional and super regional ... plus, no regionals at home mean lost suite revenue, lost concession revenue, etc. .. you'll definitely see a dip season ticket sales in 2012 if this season continues this way and fans aren't satisfied with maineri's staff changes ...

It will be so much fun watching UL hold the flag for the state when the NCAA tournament comes around.

Don't worry we will bring the flag back to you after we are finished.

nola has been fine, but he is not your prototypical 4 hole hitter

What's sad is Mahtook and Nola won't even make the SEC tourney in their last year.

At least Bruno is sitting out this year since he's what will have to replace Mahtook's bat in the lineup.

Still a month left in the season last I checked. Still a little premature with that prediction IMO, considering we're only 2 games out of 3rd place in the West right now.

Is this a "I wish" thread...because I don't think PM gives a damn. He's sticking with his guys until someone can magically hit the ball.

The kids on the baseball team just need to focus on improving their play game to game, inning to inning. Wins and losses are not that important right now.

Huh? PM has shown several times he isn't afraid to make wholesale changes.
