He will never step foot on campus. He's interested in something other than LSU football. Just don't expect him to attend one day of class, ever.

He's already here. Methinks you need to rephrase the never part.

What percentage do you give him coming to LSU this fall rather than go to the Dodgers? Being picked in the first round has got to be an awfully tempting proposition for a kid his age.

nice sentiments but wrong reason. If he stays, which I think he will, it's because he didn't get the $ he wanted to skip college football. There's nothing wrong with that either. Just don't get caught up in rosy alice in wonderland dreams.

Just typical negatiger sentiment. Don't you know the kind of clout a degree from LSU gives you on the world stage? It pretty much rivals one from Tufts minus the accolades..

Looks like the chances are pretty good:

Zach Lee Story

quote:

Bobby Reyes, Lee’s football coach at McKinney, said he predicts his former quarterback will choose to play at LSU.

“He’s told me all along ... he wanted to go to school, and he wanted to play both [football and baseball],” Reyes said.

quote:

Shea Dixon, managing editor of TigerSportsDigest.com, said Lee may make his decision before Aug. 16, the deadline for drafted players to sign.

“Coach Mainieri usually asks his guys to give him some sort of heads up,” Dixon said. “I’m guessing it won’t come down to the last hour.”

Dixon talked to Lee before he enrolled in LSU, and Dixon said all indications point to the athlete joining the Tigers on the field.

“The impression I got is that he is looking forward to college,” Dixon said.

quote:

Rene Nadeau, college football analyst for ESPN and TigerVision, said LSU is the favorite to land Lee.

“There’s a better-than-average chance he’s going to go to LSU,” Nadeau said. “The Dodgers’ situation with the divorce — that’s going to make him tough to sign. Money is just not available.”

That's another great term for the Posi-Tiger/Arse Kisser/Sunshine Pumper/Hear,See,Speak No Evil/Head buried in Sand/Mediocrity Accepting/LSU god worshipping/Cheerleader types.

Introducing the "Rosy Alice in Wonderland Dreamers" to the Rant lexicon.....

Dodgers drafted him with no intention of signing him. He was dead set on going to college that is why they drafted him. If they don't sign him then they will get better drafts next year. They know they can't afford to sign anyone in the first round draft this year... therefore he was the perfect choice.

this.

and from Lee's perspective, keep in mind that minor league baseball sounds boring as hell. why not develop physically and get better while also playing football in front of 30,000 slutty sorority girls every week. yes there's much better money in baseball and its a risk to play for LSU instead but you think youre bulletproof at that age. im sure he thinks he'll be healthy forever and can step over to baseball any time he wants.

My point was that Miles has shown that the better palyers seem to take a back seat to Older players on both sides of the ball in all poss.

Why don't you name me a few players that should have come in and started over the players that were already here?

Don't believe everything you read on the rant.

There's an ESPN insiders rumors bit on the front page of espn college football regarding Lee.

Can anyone read it? My insider script ran out today

Yeah it would nice to know what it says.

That doesn't sounds like good news.

It's just another typical ESPN misleading headline. It says LSU at risk of losing Lee and then talks about how Miles, Manieri, and Lee's high school coach all think he will end up at LSU but Scott Hotard of the Advocate is worried that Lee may go to the Dodgers. By the way, the Hotard acticle is from June 8th.

Thanks beardedzeus...they have a habit of making those insider articles seem like something they aren't.

I'll trust an article from today before one from June 8. Nothing's a sure thing, though. Noone knows what the kid is really thinking.

there were 2 pitchers in the CWS alone this year that turned down 1st round money to play college ball. and im sure there were others in the world of college baseball. It's not unheard of.

there should be an over and under of $3,000,000.

That's what ESPN said the Dodgers would need to exceed, to keep Zach Lee from foregoing pro baseball and instead enjoying college life.

So... My guess is that the Dodgers want Zach Lee enough to go
$4,000,000.00 including the $500,000 signing bonus, and thus
we do not see Zach Lee on the field for LSU
unless/until Zach Lee decides life in the minor leagues is not as cool as being the LSU starting QB.

I have no idea whether Mr Lee will make it to MLB,
but if he doesnt within a few years, we will see him play some football.
