Kind of agree with this. Arkansas is the best team, but to say they're head and shoulders above the rest is a *bit* of a stretch at THIS point.
If we're looking at similar or better results in a few weeks, I think you can say they're in a class of their own on top, but right now there's still a whole lotta time left.

not to take away from their wins, but it was not a weekend series , when you pitch the best three

I don't think it's is the same.
Ark. won 2 out of 2 = 100%
LSU won 2 out of 3 = 66.67%
What if another team plays against Ark. 10 times and wins 2 times only, would that 2-win is the same???

Winning the SEC is not the real prize. Mainieri has to concentate on getting the team ready for Omaha.

I know how you feel Bad Cat. Just like John Brady won the SEC then got teams like UAB, Purdue, Wisconsin and UCLA arse-raped his team in the NCAA tournament

To say that you can take anything away from the Ark/ASU series is ridiculous. Both teams pitched their scrubs. It was 2 midweek games for heaven's sake. Jesus, this is what happens when you have football fans paying attention to college baseball. Stay in the top 8. That's all that matters. Win every series in the SEC, and you will be hosting a Super. Arkansas is hot right now. Good luck to them being that way in about 6 weeks.

It is impossible to play at that level all season. I've seen it many times before.
I'd rather be hot in May/June than March/April.
South Carolina in 2000 was what....50-5 and they lost twice to ULL at home in the SR.
Look at Fresno last year.

30 games in and this isn't sufficient to recognize "what they are made of"?
The ridiculous assertion here is that they will need to play teams with lower RPI's, SOS's, and worse conference records to prove they are worthy.
They may not be God's gift to Baseball but they damn sure don't have to wait around on LSU to be deemed a good team. And before you mention Georgia, Georgia has the lowest strength of schedule in the conference at 119.
Your tradition only carries so much weight. Beating LSU is not the College Baseball measuring stick this year.

Arkansas no doubt should be #1 right now. They are playing very good ball. It's a long season. Yes we can reach them. LSU just took two out of three from Georgia (#1 at the time) in Georgia. LSU should be #2 right now. We want to be in the top #8 to reach OMAHA.

our schedule will get easier and theres harder.but the series with arkansas will be a good one.

Ole Miss and LSU may sweep Arkansas but not playing them yet doesn't take away from Arkansas being head and shoulders the best team in the country right now.

But envy isn't my motivation to post in this thread. I'm more so pointing out the arrogance of a fan base, if this thread is an accurate sampling, that believes a team has to beat LSU to prove its worth. LSU isn't that team this year.
Arkansas has difficult home series with LSU and Ole Miss plus a tough road trip to Georgia. That is obviously a major hurdle. But to discount the #2 RPI 30 games in, on top of everything else, just because LSU feels it is the ultimate judge and jury is ridiculous and an attitude that seems to be common here.

Maybe you're right about arrogance of some here but I'm sure you'll find the same on any board if you start a topic like this and you're trying to find it.
Then again, LSU has 5 national championships. Maybe there should be some arrogance.
