Who would want him though? He's not exactly a stellar player.

Think about how stupid this statement is. In a year where we will have between 90-100% turnover depending on if Willinson stays or goes, where we will be getting leftovers in recruitment and transfer portal, you wouldnt want our starting SF from a 6-seed team to come back?

I agree that it wont make or break what happens next year, but you can't sit here and say that we dont want him. Jesus Christ.

It’s hard to build culture when you pay kids to come to school

The culture is changing. NIL is part of the equation, but part of the equation is similar to recruiting. The coach must fit the player the coaches create. So, money just for money is not very smart. Finding the players' skills must mesh with the coach's program.

Personally, Will Wade's formula was excellent, except for his fatal flaw, paying outside the boundaries, otherwise known as cheating.

Matt McMahon will learn and grow and, I hope, be smart in all facets, including NIL money. Time will tell his tale of success or failure. His story has just begun.

Reading too much into this shite. What about the Murray St. kids leaving to follow their coach to LSU? Same disdain for them?

Exactly.

Kids who aren't from Louisiana and almost assuredly did not grow up as die hard LSU fans have decided to explore their options for the next step in their lives after the coach that they agreed to play for is no longer their coach. WHAT.A.SHOCKING.DEVELOPMENT!!!

I think it is the height of selfishness to get angry and ridicule the kids for thinking about what may be best for their lives simply because it may lessen my ENTERTAINMENT value in watching LSU basketball. It's just fine if a kid leaves Arkansas, Illinois, Cincinnati, Clemson, etc for LSU. But if a kid choses to leave LSU, then it is clearly indicative of "bad culture". I mean, why wouldn't a kid from Baltimore, or Richmond, VA, or Philadelphia, not want to stay in a town he probably had never heard of prior to being recruited, to play for a coach he doesn't know? How dare he consider a new situation now that the circumstances that brought him to LSU in the first place have now changed? Doesn't he love LSU just as much as me?!!! I have 15 LSU t-shirts and a whole room dedicated to LSU!!

it’s bizarre that not a single player liked LSU enough to stay despite Wade getting fired

You clearly have a hard time understanding how it all works.

You think a kid from Maryland with no ties to LSU who was here less than a year bleeds PnG? They are trying to get to the next level. They came half way across the country to play for Wade 1st. They probably do love it here but the stakes change when you have a potential NBA future. Why cant some of you see the big picture for these kids? Remove your FANdom. Use the football team for example. Guys like Bech are LSU through and through. Ricks is not like that. CBB has small rosters. There are no big babys or tasmin Mitchels on the roster who are from La. The bb team was full of guys like ricks. Basketball is an intimate roster. Tight nit. It's very different than football and even baseball. I can't believe I wasted this much time explaining this to you

We are going to have 100% turnover.

And I don’t think it is a coincidence. The program is 100% separating from Wade.

Well it wasn’t the choice of the program, so don’t act like they wanted all the players to leave. Lol. Crazy how some people spin it
