I've had that surgery... it's a long healing process and all I did was tear ligaments.

Am I the only one who looks at this....

...and thinks "That's modern surgical repair!?!"

I hear about new, lighter materials and this technique and that... ...and I know that it's not designed for cosmetic effect.... but that x-ray looks like 1971 to me.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I read he had returned a couple/three days ago.

Its not that long of a recovery for this. Its pretty common when u break ur fibula. If thats the extent of his injury he will play again. But what about his Femur??

It sounds like a horrible injury to a great kid. My wife's a PT and says from what she reads, that he'll be luck to walk normally again, BUT, all we are getting is speculation. Let's all be thankful he'll survive, and hope that there's no nerve damage and that he regains blood flow to the foot. If he walks again -- great, plays sports again --gravy.
Our prayers are with him.

I think it's moments like this that make me realize how small sports can seem in comparison with our own livelihood. Regardless of whether he will be able to play football again, he has his health now somewhat and just needs time to recover. He'll have his whole life ahead of him, and judging by those pictures that is a lot to be thankful for in itself. Praying for ya bud.

this is more then a broken fibula, nerves and blood vessels where exposed im sure some burst it may take awhile to get felling in his leg again when they talk about amputation it will not be a quick recovery

His injuries, according to the news reports, are FAR more extensive than that. The rehab will be long and arduous.

I would be shocked if he ever stepped foot on a NFL field. Just be thankful that the young man has his life ..

aw man, just read about this. makes me sick to my stomach. I hate to think about how he must have felt after he realized he was alive and his leg was messed up pretty bad. imagine your dreams seemingly going up in smoke in a moment.

Not that he's finished, but you gotta consider the possibility given exposed nerves and arteries and whatnot.

wonder if he was looking at internet while driving.

So glad the rumors about possible loss of foot did not come to fruition. Best wishes to a speedy recovery and NFL career.

i don't think they where rumors but they where worried that they may have to remove either the leg or the foot thankfully (i think due to prayer) he will keep both his legs and hopefully he will be able ot walk again one day but it could be years.

I wish the best for the kid. I hope he lives a good life no matter if he ever plays a sport again. Remember when he jacked Joe Adams up
