ok fine, im done because this is stupid. it was "towards" his head, but then again any hit would have been "toward" his head since the receiver had jumped and was on his way down. i'm glad he rocked that guy. sensational, clean hit.

Yeah the ref has to make the call without the benefit of still pics or slow motion at where the blow was directed at.

Coaches are supposed to emphasis to tacklers staying low in these instances. But you can't fault Jones for trying to break up the pass.

I'll say it again--This was NOT a dirty hit by Jones.

Just one the NCAA doesn't want to see.

finally watching the replay, and Todd Blackledge says, "I don't know." And when it's that close, and the experts don't know, and your safety is money from home, it's not a penalty dawlin.

Anywho, name a play where R Kansas tested Jones over the middle the rest of the game?

Not to be argumentative, but wasn't the touch down pass that drive over the middle to that same receiver?
ETA:"Ryan Mallett pass complete to Joe Adams for 14 yards for a TOUCHDOWN."

#3 has a bad case of getting his arse kicked. Chad, as properly coached, faced his target, which I will excitedly admit was square in front of him, in a tragic/brilliant convergence of football importance, and the non-recruited player made a play. And the rest is history.

those hits and angles are going to get called on all levels of football. in the end, CJ saved a TD so you have to be thankful.

As an LSU fan, I'd say that it was a good call.

Looking at it multiple times from the 6-9 sec range of the video there is contact between helmets.. he lead with shoulder but there was contact... hate the call but I do think it was right after looking at it 20 times..It was soo borderline at game speed that they are always going to lean to the side of caution.
