Pretty standard technique for guys who need to show good speed to improve their draft status.

Also, bench means shite nothing for a safety.

true, but you would like to see him do anywhere from 10 to 15 just let folks know some strength is there, 9 is not good.

It does when your cover skills are as bad as CJ's

Dont forget that this dude has long arse arms. Trindon Holliday has tiny arms.

not really man

if he runs well, no one will care what he benches.

he better run well. If he does, the bench doesn't matter.....but looking at his pudgy body the last year or two i will be shocked if he runs great.

if he dropped 15 pounds, he shouldn't nearly as pudgy

Always good to have a backup plan when you bench as much as a high school gymnast. 9 reps is embarrassing no matter how you shake it. And I'm a CJ fan.

and what is the backup plan??

it doesnt matter what he benches. At all.

it matters how he runs and how he does in agility drills. If he does shitty in that, a bench press couldnt help him.

LE, he only threw it up 9 times. He obviously hits softer now than he did vs. Arky and Penn St.

His speed will obviously be what they look at most. Everyone knows he can hit and tackle when he takes good angles

Syntax? Semantics? Pragmatics? Gibberish? What are we focusing on?

Yeah, I don't think anyone questions his physicality or ability to tackle people so his strength really isn't an issue.

Speed/agility may be.

people were predicting he was going to throw up 25 reps on here. really though, he's never gonna be able to bench a lot. he's not really built for it and he's just not naturally strong there.

now if they had a squat test he'd be one of the top dbs there.
