I have AT&T and never get service. Some girls next to me were talking their arse off and I asked what carrier. They said Verizon.

It was horrible for me! It wasn't bad for the Vanderbilt game but last weekend, I got about 10 texts after I got to the parking lot that had been sent to me while I was in the stadium.

AT&T here...couldn't text before, during, or after the game.

AT&T is Verizon's bitch!

There's some myth about a reception blocker on campus, but it's bullshite. Most people around here use AT&T so when all of these thousand of people get into the stadium, the signal available is being split thousands of ways. Verizon has far less customers in this region so they have more network available.

I could send texts with ATT but only got a webpage to pull up once.

my iPhone worked during the LSU game for the first time since I bought it a 18 months ago or so. If you shut it off and reboot it helped.

I was able to get sportacular for scores infrequently.

Didn't try to call or read email as that is useless generally.

Even at smaller events such as Jazz Fest or Festival International iPhone always has problems with large crowds.

Interesting and I did not know that. Thanks.

I have tried, on two different occasions, to dial up my mom at home for her to hear the band live for pregame. She always LOVED our band, as most of us do. Anyway, the last few games I've been to I just left the phone in my truck.

I had verizon up until last week. I always got text instantly with no problem.

I recently changed to ATT and didn't get a text till I walked to the parking lot after the game.

Here's a weird fix to getting your texts: Call some number you know won't answer (like your own home or room or something.) You'll usually get missed texts within a second. If you really, really need them, it works.

I didn’t have any issue with my service during the day tailgating or at TS. All carriers can handle the tower traffic if they plan for it. All carriers plan for events like Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, football games any large events becasue of the increase in traffic on the towers. So if you experience service [latency] issues; it is most likley because that carrier did not plan for the added traffic. If your service issue is consistent game to game; then that carrier probably doesnt have enough towers to reroute traffic or they are operating close or over 100% capacity.

This does work. My friend was wondering why I was calling my house during the game Saturday and I was telling him sometimes it is the only way I can get texts during a game.

The problem with AT&T preparing for events is that they take into account the game, but in my opinion, they overlook the fact that there is still a whole campus full of people not at the game using their AT&T phones/aircards and a stadium full of multitaskers watching the game while using their phones the whole time. It doesn't help that everyone tries to get on the Rant, update their Twitter, check Facebook, and everything else. It's a network overload.

i wonder if Verizon being a sponsor for LSU has anything to do with it?

I vote for this conspiracy. Verizon 'pays' for the ads in TS. Not sure, seriously, if it has anything to do with it but I could do nothing with my phone in the stadium even though I had all bars and 3G. Folks next me had Verizon and were tearing it up. Does make you wonder.

I have ATT and I didn't have a problem throughout the game, sending, receiving texts, and checking the internet.
