Really?? He has absolutely nothing to do with LSU.
That is the exact point to why they picked him. They are pleasing their national audience, not the LSU fans that will be on the parade grounds. Have they ever picked a celebrity guest that is an alum of the university gameday is at? I know there has not been one this season.

I doubt its Chris Paul because the Hornets play at 1 on Saturday if I am not mistaken.

Carville is a wind bag. He always gets face time at big games. Need new face to put to LSU.

Who are the other nominees? My whole point is he has no connection to LSU.
If you have watched ESPN gameday at any point you would realize they do not bring people on that have a connection to either team playing. It is just what they do...
They bring a local celebrity... Local Athlete, Actor, Musician, etc...

James Carville or David Toms

Yeah and then they asked him to leave so they could have a local athlete (Tedy Bruschi) do the celebrity picks.

Has anyone mentioned Hueng Soro yet?
Posted on 10/9/09 at 1:08 pm to Tigercoop40
Reggie Bush? Drew Brees perhaps? Saints are on a bye this week.

Posted on 10/9/09 at 1:08 pm to GoldenBoy
yea Paul Mainieri was kinda just a guess, only because the recent baseball NC, and he could talk bout it and coaching Jones as well.
I wouldnt be suprised to see Skip Bertman, he means a lot to LSU athletics.

I didn't say he was a celebrity, dumbass. I was answering someone's question about who they "bring up" and not being connected to either team. Whether James Carville is a "celebrity" is questionable.
