“There is Nick Brossette, a senior power back (6-0, 218) from University High who gained 101 yards on 19 carries last season, and three-star true freshman Chris Curry (5-11, 200) of Lehigh Acres, Florida, who has already impressed Coach Ed Orgeoron, and three-star true freshman Tae Provens (6-0, 187) of Gurley, Alabama.

“ "We have different skill-sets," Edwards-Helaire said of Brossette. "Nick is very patient. He lets things unfold. The way I move may be a little quicker, just because my legs are like two inches long. So it may seem like I'm moving a little quicker."

Edwards-Helaire has also been used as an extra receiver in four- and five-receiver sets.

"I'm very versatile," he said.“

I hope Brossette can contribute. He would be am asset if he can hang on to the ball.

I think Brossette is going to be surprisingly good playing with a chip on his shoulder and out to prove he belongs.

Sounds like something I would say in an interview.

Those 2 fumbles are must be really stuck in people's heads. I remember the one he lost in the Troy game but for the life of me I can't recall the one he had had in his freshman year that he didn't lose.

Makes me think people are attributing fumblitis to a guy who may not really have it?

It’s not the fumbles, but his pad level. From the few carries he got, he always ran too tall.

46 career rushes, two fumbles.

Honestly, I never paid attention to that. That has been the knock against a couple of really good backs in the past including Eric Dickerson and AP.

He has averaged over 5 YPC in all but 3 games in his career. 2015 Auburn 3.3 ypc on 4 carries , 2017 Syracuse 3 yards on 1 carry, and 2017 A&M 4.2 ypc on 6 carries. Career 6.7 YPC But he really doesn't have a lot of carries for 3 years of playing, only 46 carries.

Here's to him proving something to everyone this year.

2 fumbles in 3 seasons (he had carries in 18 games) with limited carries. Could be at least partially attributable to jitters or the lack of reps. Not sure we can draw any conclusions from that anymore than we can from the 6.7 YPC he's got.

And my recollection, faulty as it may be, was that Joseph Addai had fumble issues early on at LSU but seemed to get a handle on that as things progressed.

Hope Nick explodes this year. As well as CEH, Curry and Provens. Would love an unexpected riches of RBs.

CEH as a WR in a 5wide set with all these 6'3+ WRs says Tunnel screen all day. I love it!

1) Curry
2) CEH
3) Provens, Brosette and Lanard.

I'll go on record here and predict that Clyde is on the field at least 50% of the time, and gets the majority of touches. He is likely the most dangerous runner we have, while also possessing the most versatility.

Brossette will get considerable carries to spell and Curry will come in occasionally, with more time coming towards the end of blowouts and decided contests. Maybe Ducre can get some touches, and I think Provens redshirts.

My memory isn't perfect also, but I do remember this being true. He had a big time fumble issue that he corrected
