Let's wait until these recruits play against college competition. It's just a matter of time and patience. He's probably okay but far too early to say real deal.

Runs a lot like Hillard but Hillard had tree trunks for legs. I'm going to make a really silly comparison here. He runs a lot like Barry Sanders. What made Sanders so great was his ability to make defenders miss and his ability too not take the big hit.

He's a very good back. Had offer early on and basically shut recruitment down or he would have gotten more pub. Oklahoma wanted him pretty badly. Miss St kept pushing til signing day. He's a pretty good back.

No he's not Fournette, but now that we have an offensive coordinator who won't be running the most predictable offense we've ever seen, we don't really need a guy who runs angry necessarily. He's not gonna be asked to take a toss and run right into the pile lmao. I know some of y'all love that play, but it's probably not gonna be run very much. We just need a guy who can gain yards and make people miss to gain yards. Clyde can do that as well as anyone

Go watch that film and get back to me on shitting up that recruiting and Etienne

look, the staff wanted akers and ceh. you may recall Etienne committed to a&m. it was probably because he didn't have an LSU offer. there was some reason we didn't even offer Etienne and only the coaches know. maybe they changed their mind or maybe they settled. maybe they were wrong on their evaluation. that happens. It is very difficult to balance out a recruiting class and I don't think we wanted 3 backs and were confident of landing akers. a mistake was probably made but that doesn't mean we "shitted" it up. stuff like that happens. I have heard from a number of "sources" that there is a great group of backs available next year and I bet we sign a couple. one of them will probably start as a freshman; so be it. it is one position where a freshman can play right away.

he has similar size. Hillard's thighs were the biggest I have ever seen and he was very hard to bring down. he wasn't super fast but he knew how to elude tacklers and his legs never stopped pumping. I hope like hell he plays like Hilliard!

Sorry, but I think you're being short-sighted. There is a ton of talent in our backfield, albeit unproven. A healthy Brossette is an SEC caliber starter.

The benefit of our new offense will be that our whole offensive philosophy will no longer be run or die. It will be creative, aggressive, and complimentary to a passing game. We will no longer need an all American tailback just to move the ball.

CEH will also shock the doubters who are only looking at him as a change of pace back.

I agree that there is some depth concern which will be totally rectified if we nail down a few good backs in 2017

I hope he gets a chance to return kickoffs. He can cut on a dime than take off like a jet. If he was 2 inches taller he would be a 5*.

You don't know what you're talking about and you're just being a dickhead for the sake of being one. We don't need a guy with an "angry running style" because we aren't going to be running Les Miles' shite offense anymore. Canada will create space for Clyde to run/be productive and he'll be fine. He reminds me of Alley Broussard TBH and I'd be perfectly happy if he turned into an above average quality running back like Broussard. You're a dumbass if you think we're going to get a Fournette or Guice every single year

Alley Broussard? Where do you get that comparison from?

He's obviously not 235 pounds but he's certainly not a 165 pound small guy like a lot of people on this website like to regurgitate. The dude is 5'9" 210 and he hits he hole really hard and has that good, hard first cut like Broussard had and can bounce off of tacklers and create space in traffic and keep moving forward. He doesn't have broussard's size that would allow him to straight up truck linebackers head on but they have similar builds, balance, vision, and cutback ability. It's obviously just my opinion but he reminds me of a shorter Broussard in a lot of ways. I'm sure there are better comparisons out there but I think a lot of people will see that one when Clyde gets older and gains even more weight

I agree with an earlier poster with regards to Dalton Hillard. CEH possesses pretty much the same body style and elusivness. I'm excited as hell to see this guy line up.

He is only 1 inch shorter than Barry sanders who imo was the best RB to ever play the game. His low center of gravity makes him difficult to bring down and his feet never stop moving, which is why he breaks so many tackles on film. He will be fine in Canada's offense especially with how good his hands are coming out of the backfield.

CEH film is impressive.

[/quote] I m going to say this for the last time Dalton had thighs and balance like no other back I've seen at LSU since I attended my first game in 1969.
Balance and vision in the hole is what made Dalton so damn good. He didn't have the jukes like this kid or the Top end speed.
Dalton was so even keeled as a player. Tough guy.

My thoughts too. Almost same exact size and running style, but I don't know if he has J-Ds speed.
That height can be an advantage on the goal line. Watch Jones-Drew dive and bust through the line under linemen
