im sorry but winning the sec was more important than beating VT on week 2 last year
You're joking right? You really think we would have moved up all the way to 2 if we had played say, Troy instead of VT? You'd have been watching VT play OSU and us play Hawaii.

I don't think he was talking smack about the teams (or even overall schedules), just saying that LSU's overall schedule's not an A, like one guy said (which I agree with, I think it's a B overall).

I would just like one OSU fan to acknowledge that if they were in the SEC they would not be whipping FLA, AU, LSU, TENN, and GA every year and getting to the NC.
I acknowledge this.

OSU would be lucky to EVER get to play for the NC if they were facing those teams every year.
I don't acknowledge this.

Lets see we play GA, FLA (road), Auburn (road), SC (road) and ALA plus a possible SEC championship game. Yet you think that schedule ranks as a "B". What would be an "A" to you.

LSU frickin sucks in this category
They make marginal attempts to schedule qaulity opponents

It all depends on how things play out. I dont like our ooc schedule, but you have to realise LSU MIGHT have to beat the No.1 preseason team twice. And if they get that far it will be because they also beat Fla and Auburn on the road. No, I dont like paying for bad games , but overall thats close to an A schedule. You cant play 12 SEC (or somewhat equal)quality teams every year and expect to live

I already talked about the LSU schedule in a previous post.

Are you talking about your school?

If you guys would have had one solid OOC team (lower top 25, or just out of top 25), I would've given it a B+ overall, an elite OOC team, A-.
If you play UGA in the SECCG, I'd bump it to a A- overall (I don't like A+'s, so A's the highest
Right now, it's a solid B.

After the last two years, I am convinced that if the SEC does not have a team in the NC game for the next several years, then you will be watching the 2nd and 3rd (or 1st and 3rd) best teams play for the NC with the best or second best team playing in the Sugar. Things change but for now the SEC should be in that game every year.

do u really think that would rather us play troy over vt. come on.
last year the bcs came down to WHO ARE THE TWO BEST TEAMS RIGHT NOW. not who did lsu beat WEEK 2. im not saying our win over vt didnt mean anything, but it was more us just coming off a sec championship victory in my opinion

Fair enough, lets play ball and see how things work out

OK, I already analyzed this, but I'll do it again a little more thoroughly.

FLA (road)
USC (road)

Auburn (road)
Wisconsin (road)

SC (road)
Mich St (road)

ALA
Penn St

GA
Illinois (road). This is where you guys have the "advantage". I'm not going to count the SECCG, since you don't know if you'll get there. So if you rate that schedule an A, is it fair to say that you think OSU's schedule is a B+?

Hell yeah, just a little more than three weeks!

Playing Florida and Auburn on the road will be an absolute bitch. The schedule this year is significantly tougher than the schedule last year, given how Virginia Tech posed no challenge.

Are you nuts? Had we not beaten a VERY HIGHLY ranked VT in week 2 then there was ZERO chance of us playing for the title. Had we beaten, say, Troy in week 2 then we would have gone to the Sugar Bowl.
Posted on 8/6/08 at 9:16 pm to Buckeye Fan 19
I am making no reference to OSU schedule good or bad. I was only talking about ours. Its a bitch! Its going to be a lot easier for OSU than it will be for LSU to run the table and as we both know it aint because OSU is a better team than LSU. Sooooooooo.....ahem......OSU has an easier schedule!

I've said this, but it's not by as much as you think.

Well, we won't know who's better this year til we play the games.
Posted on 8/6/08 at 9:27 pm to Buckeye Fan 19
That is true. Every year is different. I really believe that both OSU and USC are actually not served well by how weak their conferences have become. I think that the SEC is missing out on NC appearances because they beat up each other all season BUT are way better prepared when they do limp into the NC. I think that is the key to the SEC being 3-0 in BCS title games. I think that while USC and/or OSU are a virtual lock every year to get to the NC, neither will be as good as they could be when they get to the game because they have not been competing with the best. Its not their fault the conferences have gotten week..........just making a point.
