Can I watch the game live on a CBS app via Apple TV Saturday? With the weather I'd like a back up option for shitty Direct tv

Anyone watched it there before?

I ran into this problem trying to watch Tennessee and Alabama.

The cbs app on the Apple TV does not allow for live streaming of the cbs game. However, the cbs app on your phone does.

Thus, if you have an iPhone, simply get the cbs app on your phone and AirPlay the game to your Apple TV.

ETA: Actually, now that I recall, I don't think I airplayed the game from
my phone to the Apple TV. I instead mirrored my phone to my Apple TV which worked just as well.

I'm in the same boat with DirecTV. Worried about the weather. I plan on getting CBS All Access as they have a 7 day free trial. It's available on Roku, Chromecast, Android and Apple TV.

It might not work actually. Last time I tried it was unsuccessful on the AppleTv App, and phone app would not let me mirror it.

Consider something like Chromecast which just broadcasts your screen not just Airplay for videos.

CBS on the AppleTV and the CBS live stream website both say that streaming isn't available in the area (Thibodaux). No cable drops in the area so I'm trying to figure out another way to stream the game. I'm thinking a Dish network/Direct TV tailgate antenna may be my best bet. Anyone have any ideas?

Apple TV and iPhones offer multiple methods to stream content from your phone to Apple TV.

You can AirPlay the streaming content, or you can literally Mirror the content. When you select the AirPlay function you are offered either option. I have found Mirroring works in any case where the Air Play was not functional.

You friggin liberals and your Apple.. with satellite..
get a dang PC and cable..
It's 8,000 times cheaper.. and 1,000 times better.
My xfinity app has never let me down when watchespn has.. for whatever reason.

Unless there is a nuclear disaster.. cable will work.

Just use rabbit ears for a CBS game. It doesn't have to be a HD antenna.

at worst this is a $50 purchase (getting an amplified antenna is best if using indoors. I'm cheap so I but the $10-20 variety and run a cable through a window to get better reception by putting the antenna outside) and also comes in handy during hurricane season.

found this on the cbs all access site

quote:

Can I stream SEC events with Live TV? Yes, SEC events that normally air during the CBS Sports block on CBS will be available for live stream with your All Access subscription. Simply access Live TV via the CBS app, or visit CBS.com on your computer (PC/Macs only). If the game is carried nationally, it will also be available.

I have answered this question in two other threads in the past week.

The CBS Sports app on Apple TV does not let you stream live content. However, if you have an iPhone or iPad you can use the CBS Sports app on those devices. You can then mirror the screen to your Apple TV. Note that the iPhone seems to format to the TV much better.

Go buy an HD antenna for backup. CBS HD is free. No need to stream.
