Just called Cats and they have no information about the touchdown express for this season, as yet. This info is for the other old folks who care about this sort of thing.

Knowing CATS, it will be driving around with no one on it.

I'm just trying to keep people informed because in the past, Cats has changed the Touchdown Express ticketing policy without much notice, as in the 2014 season. Fans that live out of town, have a hard time finding out about such changes. If they depend on the Touchdown Express to get to and from games and it is not available, it becomes a cluster frick to make other arrangements.

that is really a shame...used to be that Baton Rouge put on a maximum effort with buses and moved a couple of thousand people from downtown to games...

ive used it a lot over the last few years as my interest in all day tailgating has gone down over the years. its a good system they continually try to screw up

Thanks. It's a good service for those who don't have a parking pass or may not (or cannot) get out to the games early enough to get a spot. It could be a GREAT service and good money-maker for CATS if the people running it weren't completely inept.
1. There is no designated route and apparently no communication between the buses with regards to traffic conditions. The bus drivers will often drive aimlessly around downtown BR going to different stops. Sometimes they stop at Hollywood Casino (where no one ever gets on). Sometimes they don't. They will needlessly make three circles around downtown to pick up riders from the downtown hotels, instead of going down one street and knocking all three hotels out in one pass. Sometimes they take Nicholson into campus. Sometimes they take River Road. Sometimes one bus will take one route while the bus directly behind it takes a completely different route. It's mind-boggling
2. Leaving the game is a clusterfrick. They will have 15 buses ready to go in the parking lot, then for whatever reason chose to load one at a time. They could literally load 10 buses all at one (everyone has to have a ticket to get on) if they chose and let all 10 go at one time. Instead, it is piecemealed and creates a backlog.
3. In 4 years no one has apparently told the bus drivers that it is contraflow on River Road heading downtown. These morons get in the right lane to sit at a standstill, while 100 cars go flying by in the left lane. The trip downtown would be, at minimum, 25 minutes faster if they would just get in the left lane!
It's a nice alternative to driving and parking. Buy holy shite, but if someone had once smidgen of common sense it could really be a GREAT service

AMEN!!!!!!
and with continuing reduction in on-campus parking, services like this become more and more important...

Possibly, once the trolley is completed, the trolley drivers will not have to think what route to take to and from campus. That's if they use the trolley for games.

Just an update, as of today, CATS still doesn't have any info on the Touchdown Express for 2016 season.
